I can assure you I won't be riding mine all the time since I'll have my goobue and hopefully drake/ahriman to switch it out with.

Drake/ahriman aren't for certain I think; the shown animations were kind of a tech demo for trying out different mounts I believe. Could still happen but may not be until well after 2.0. Food for thought.

The future of FF14 is going to be heavily instanced. No one is even going to be seeing mounts much anyway(unless... you're a gatherer? lulz).

I find, in many MMOs, the mass plethora of mounts, showing them off, & collecting them, ridiculous. That's not for me, but it's still a good thing & I'm glad they do this.

IDK, there are just too many real issues to be worried about to even let something this miniscule even entertain the thought.
