I hate materia. I literally can't stand it and refuse to meld any of it. I consider it a cancer that needs to be stripped from the game. I developed said hatred back when the zodiac weapon was a thing and SE in there wisdom decided the weapons needed to use materia. At the time the only way to get materia was from spending hours upon hours spiritbonding gear and hoping that when you converted it you didn't get something stupid like elemental resistance. I've since grown even less found of it as it severely discourages me from crafting. You always seem to end up needing penta melded bull crap just to be able to have a chance at hqing or even attempting to craft your next tier of gear when it comes to end game. For example going from the Chimerical felt to the Carbon weave stuff in Heavensward.

    Here’s another few unpopular opinions.

Elezen are the best race in the game.

    Everyone should be an Elezen.

All the other races are unnecessary.

That is not a joke, I the King of all Elezen, genuinely believe it.

    As for my unpopular opinion?

Just delete healers in PvP and give everyone powerful sustain (like the 30s Recuperate we have now, but with more potency, like 40%).
Oh and please bring 3.x PvP back.
Oh and please delete the plan for the next Savage raid and focus on PvP content and balance.
Oh and if we could have different specializations for each job that enable them to perform different roles (like Holy/Ret/Prot Pally in WoW) or different styles of play (like Subtlety/Outlaw/Assassin Rogue), that would be great.

I actually really enjoy dpsing as a healer when I can, it brings more variety to the job and keeps my interest longer than any dps job has.

I think the glamour dresser is amazing and I've been playing with my glamours 100x more than before since it was implemented.

Allowing FCs to purchase houses before individuals is a good idea.

    Here are my unpopular opinions:

-If it was up to me, Hunts would show up on your map. You'd get a personal notification at your toggled leisure when and where they popped.

-fishing should have an auto-fish function. It's all RNG anyways and imo, the most tedious to lvl. Up to this day, I've asked 14 people how did they put up with and thei response was Netflix

-The best gear is locked behind savage/ex. We have 15 jobs. Why are we locked to 450 tomes every new patch for gear that's not BiS? So what if people could farm the gear of their choice in a day? If gear was the only thing that kept me going back to the game, I could somewhat understand but isn't.
-Still can't trade or Ante triple triad cards
-Kick feature should have a "other" checkbox where you can write why you kicked someone.
-Game should tell you who kicked you.
-The tank and heal jobs feel more like dps. You spend more time doing dpsing overall than tank/heal

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

    Unpopular opinions.

People love to say that healers spend most of their time dps-ing. I disagree. Sure that's true in easier content, but that's just because we get stronger. In harder content there is plenty of healing to be done - especially when the other party members *cough* DPS *cough* don't learn how to dodge (looking at you, 4.2 Rabanastre with all the new/returning people who seem to know almost none of the mechanics and die every 15 seconds).

Fates are awesome, the only problem is the reward structure.
    Give Diadem better rewards.
Give world fates more exp. For max level (70 in this expansion), instead of exp (not instead of GC), give something else.
Next time an event (like Yokai watch) uses Fates, stop using RNG to determine whether or not we get something. Consistency is key.
Most people who hate fates seem to suffer PTSD from reward RNG that an event/relic used. Sure they'll say it's because fates are boring, but anytime I ask them to say more about it, it always ends up being a reward RNG story and they just don't realize the true reason they hated it was the reward structure and not the fates themselves.

    1) 1,000,000 percent agree.

    2) Modified slightly, to support your point in #1. Make tomestone gear have the same VIT/Mainstat/Defense, but no substats. U can get your base stats up, but it wont be nearly as good as other options.

Yes, but that is because you'd need to spend all those GCDS on basic healing. You would end up with less overall to bring people up quickly. It would be like main healing as a RDM; you can do it, but there aren't the tools to compensate for massive damage spikes.

I think that player skill could possibly improve if there were actual difficulty curves when it comes to leveling content (and inb4 someone says “rawr you cannot make leveling content savage-level difficulty”, that is NOT what I’m saying—I’m just saying there should be some sort of difficulty curve there as opposed to gameplay that does not punish you in the slightest for mistakes/failed mechanics). As it stands now, a lot of the original ARR content/dungeons are harder and more punishing on mistakes than the newer SB content/dungeons, and older tiers of Savage are harder than the current tiers (Deltascape was the easiest tier of Savage this game has seen thus far) and I don’t really see that as a good thing.
The only issue is that if you want a difficulty curve, that has to mean something. It means a lot more failed runs, and times you will need to abandon because people won't get past the boss. What the person you are replying is mentioning that if you make things harder, you aren't going to be able to demand smoother runs of normal play; you will have to accept it will get worse because now there are actual penalties and requirements. If you want harder content to make people better, so you can get harder endgame content, you can't expect people to continue to run expert dungeons in 20 min or trials in 7.

MCH was never complicated. People expected "gun bard" then acted like they couldn't understand that it was different. Then called it weak (thanks for the overbuffing though). And now they call it "boring" and brainless. That's wrong too. But hell if it gets us overbuffed again, fine. Bring it on.
MCH at 3.0 launch was incredibly weak, and it was the hardest job to play all through the expansion because you needed to play piano with wildfire to get decent DPS. This wasn't controversial. It literally was all about forcing too many damage and modifier OGCDS into a brief window of time, and even though they slowly adjusted it, most people didn't seem to play it. New MCH was worse I feel because they tacked on heat gauge, when they just needed to spread its abilties out and reduce BS stuff.
