The game needs more tension and conflict between the Eorzean City States, paving the way to more meaningful and plot heavy PvP conflicts.

Female clothing and poses *looking at you miqoute female pose emote” are over sexualised and pander to the more perverted subscribers *female dragoon relic gear with the gaping torso hole*

I think the dev team has a much better handle on both what makes the game fun and what makes it successful than the players do.

1. Nothing in this game should be both seasonal AND exclusive. Not mounts, not tattoos, nothing. Give me something to work toward over time and I will wholeheartedly throw myself into the endeavor. Limiting things like this just encourages people to try and beat the system.
1a. If you're going to give us something to work toward, at least make it obtainable within a reasonable timeframe and not hinged on 5 years of hunting luck (a.k.a the Centurio tiger)
2. Positionals feel so artificial and serve no real purpose. They're just nonsense filler designed to curb-stomp your potential. I would happily play monk all day every day if I didn't have to worry about where to be and when in addition to the million other things I have to juggle.
3. STOP PUTTING ALL OUR BEST DPS POTENTIAL INTO ONE TINY LITTLE WINDOW FOR THE LOVE OF HYDAELYN. I'm looking at you, machinist and warrior.

FATES, battle leves, and guildhest are great idea's that the dev team don't utilize properly. FATES should give max level characters actual rewards, and mimic the Emissary Quest from WoW. Every day a different zone needs you to complete a certain amount of fates (in wow its 4 world quest) to get a chest that can reward you with gear and currency.
Aether Gear needs to be used more.
Unpopular (?) opinion: I don't want Sephiroth to be the next raid boss, assuming we'll get a 4th raid tier. I think VII has been milked enough by SE.

I dislike the speed of the ilvl turn over with no changes made to past content to keep the relevant and the ease of getting all gear
I dislike the constant nerfs and SE's fear of alienating anyone by making something that you cannot watch Netflix and play with one hand
I dislike the current endgame of boss > boss > boss, would rather have trials where even trash mobs are worth killing
I really liked ffxi and think a lot of the endgame concepts for it, like dyna, savage, sky and assault, would make wonderful additions to endgame. FFXIV could learn a thing or two from XIs endgame
I think we need more stat diversity, simplifying it is one thing, reducing it down to such a state that you really don't even need stats anymore just put "+200 mage" or "+200 tank" on something and your good is ridiculous.
I hate hate hate kawaii and think we need less of it and more of everything else.
Bring back the gearswaps!
I would love more long term goals on things that are not fluff, like mounts.
I really like both Lyse and Minfillia and dislike Alph-nothanks and Haurchiphhht
I actually enjoyed v1, even if the game was busted, the community was better and we had a great time
SE will of course bring back Sephi-rot because they cant help but milk that cow worse than Bethesda milks Skyrim

Female gear / poses are not that great. I'd love some more armor that feels like armor and not get myself buried under a pile of glorified battle bikinis.
Some gear variety in general would be nice, instead of the same items reskinned/recolored.
I don't want FFVII or FFVIII for next raid tier. They're milked so hard it's dust.
I didn't mind returning to the Waking Sands.
I liked the Moogle quests.
I rather dislike speed runs. Yes, I'll do them, but I prefer slower* runs where you can actually talk/joke a bit with party members.
*I'm not talking a snail's pace here, just a bit slower to where you can squeeze in some random chat.
