Believe it or not, this is a serious suggestion, it would be a lot of fun!
Through one of those random cross server party, a conversation of the most randomness started up about future possible duty bosses.
At the time we were doing Byakko and his Nier-esque ball mechanic, we couldn't help but start discussing about things that could be more like this.
We came to the topic of no fighting at all, make it less about armour and dps and more about fun mechanics.
The conclusion being: A whole fight designed with simply dodging aoe's, balls and attacking using EMOTES.
Which then brought us to DJ Casper's "Cha Cha Slide". (No joke!)
Similar was done in the dungeon Bardam's Mettle already, but this itself would be taken out of a dungeon setting and placed into it's own instance.
Further more, you would be mixing it with the emote GATE that takes place at the Golden Saucer, and an array of obstacles and abilities to dodge (possible being fired at you by a select number of cannons - because everyone loves cannons).
The Emotes part would be your combat bars being entirely replaced with a single emote bar instead, consisting of 8 random emotes, that through out the fight, the boss would cause the emotes to change/randomise (to keep you on yours toes and know your icons)
You could even use pre-existing arena's too, to save on making something new.
Or you could use the center stage model at the golden saucer and have it instanced. Give it railings to begin with, and then at later difficulties remove them so people can fall off to mechanics -Further more, if this stage was used, each stage the scenery could change to that of a pre-existing arena and play that fights music, just to prevent it from getting boring (like how PotD plays different music). So for example: the stage would still be the gold saucers stage, but the scenery would be Garuda's tornado and her music could play.
By randomising the theme of the stage, it could also cause the mechanics of that stage to on par with the theme. (Though arena's a player hasn't unlocked won't be added in to the randomisation because of spoilers - spoilers are bad, ay!)
And the boss could even be a re-purposed version of the giant frog boss in Anti-Tower.
And due to the nature of the fight, why not just make it a level 15 entry requirement!
The fight could be done solo or with any number of people up to a full party.
The fight could consist of multiple stages of varying degrees of difficulty, and each stage getting faster in required response time (Think Tetris!)
A three strike counter could be in place - 3 strikes you're out.
Each week the fight could give you a random untradable housing item or glamour piece as a reward (One a week like khloe's books) - and could also have a leader board system put into place it too that could reset each week. The winner getting possible a unique minion which could be changed each week - or a unique title for bragging rights of "I'm the best!"
Obviously you'll only get one prize a week, but the fight could be spammed if the player chose to, to try and get the highest score per server for a chance to win the special prize.
Have I mentioned yet that, everyone loves slidey ice floors, changing floor panels and fire puddles? Plus, Byakko's balls have been a big hit too (Cannon's guys, cannons!)
