    Future expansion FFXI (not serious)

    This isn't a serious suggestion, this is just a question I'd like to ask people. (Nor do I think it's a good idea.)

    If FF14 ever finished it's main story, and explored just about all there is to see in it's world, and so the devs decided to make an entire expansion based on jumping worlds to FFXI, which zones and characters do you feel best represent the game as a whole?

    FFXIV's expansions are limited in what content they can showcase.
    6 Zones with enemies/FATEs.
    1 Major town with market board.
    1 Minor town for endgame tokens.
    5 Leveling dungeons.
    1 Final Dungeon.
    2 Expansion starting "tome" dungeons.

    The future theme Yoishi plans, is 1 unique dungeon per odd patch X.1, X.3, and X.5
    Then 1 unique dungeon, and 1 HM dungeon on even patches.
    So 3+2 unique dungeons, and 2 HM dungeons.

    Then the 3 different 24 man raid dungeons, and a possible Diadem/Eureka replacement zone. (I would assume is a zone that remixes assets from another zone, like these will do mostly.)

    And of course the 3 stages of 4 floors of savage.

    So which areas would best fit within these limitations in your opinion?

    I'm really curious to see which things stand out the most to people. Obviously you cant have all 3 major starting cities, and Jeuno, and then all the other larger cities added over time. You cant have every zone, and some zones really just don't offer enough to fit FFXIVs style for world design.
    (Also, because HMs are remixes of prior content, I'd imagine making a Promivion dungeon, not a part of the MSQ, so the next 2 HMs are the other 2 promivions remade, using the same assets as the 1st promivion.)

    EDIT: People seem to be confused on what my point is.
    This isnt a suggestion for SE to do, nor is it important in any way.
    Just like asking your friends what their favorite color is, it's pointless.
    If you don't want to participate, that's fine. If you find it pointless, saying it's pointless is equally pointless lol.

    EDIT #2: Every zone currently has at least 1 Aetheryte Camp, if not 2. This would actually be another challenge for this, as FFXI didnt like to put much in the way of buildings in its zones. (partly why they felt like you really were out in the wilderness.)

    It's tough to say what could be picked as the iconic representation of XI if they ever did make a world-hopping expansion (as unlikely as it is) but I think either Pre-RotZ or CoP would work best.

    Pre-Zilart
    Major Zones: Sarutabaruta, Gustaberg, Ronfaure, Sauromugue Champaign, Rolanberry Fields and Batallia Downs

    Cities: Jeuno (major) Selbina (minor)

    Leveling Dungeons: Horutoto Ruins, Gusgen Mines, Eldieme Necropolis, Delkfutt's Tower and Ranguemont Pass

    Final Dungeon: Castle Zvahl

    Tome Dungeons: Dynamis - Jeuno and Crawler's Nest

    24-man dungeons: Dynamis - San d'Oria, Dynamis - Beaucedine Glacier and Dynamis - Xarcabard

    Raid series: (Beastmen Strongholds, but majorly cut down into short sections) Beadeaux, Castle Oztroja and Davoi/Monastic Cavern

    Promathia
    Major Zones: Carpenter's Landing, Bibiki Bay, Misareaux Coast, Lufaise Meadows, Promyvion and Al'Taieu

    Cities: Tavnazia and Sealion's Den (kinda cheating on this one since Sealion's Den was technically part of Tavnazia but was a gated off section to enter Al'Taieu

    Leveling Dungeons: Sacrarium, Riverne Site A01 and B01, Movalpolos, Garden of Ru'Hmet and Promyvion - Vahzl

    Final Dungeon: Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi

    Tome Dungeons: Phomiuna Aqueducts and Temenos/Apollyon

    24-man Dungeons: I'd say this is best served by turning sections of certain chapters from the story into fights but difficult to choose without double-dipping

    Raid Series: Same issue of possible reuse of bosses but something involving Ultima and Omega

    I think those could be a fair representation of the things that made FFXI stand out to its players and were some of its best storyline sections without getting too deep into alternate dimensions and timelines and the like. Of course it will never happen but it's a fun thing to imagine

    I can't believe I didn't think of Dynamis for 24man, that's clever. (Technically, it also covers all 3 major cities, if we avoid going to them as zones)

    I would also Agree that Selbina is quite memorable, with Jeuno being the most notable of the major cities, since you spend most of your time there Lv19+
    Having Ranguemont Pass as a leveling dungeon is interesting, but with Xarcabard out of the question, it would feel odd having Castle Zvahl as the final dungeon. (Not that non FF11 fans would notice really.)

    I'd actually mix Xarcabard and Ranguemont Pass as one "area" be it a zone or dungeon, so it would flow together a tiny bit better.
    (FF14 usually makes zones a constant mess of land types, going from forest to swamp in the same map, to mountains to sand dunes, etc. So I doubt many zones would be as sprawling, and I'd imagine they would mix 2 zones into 1 a few times, blocking off useless directions/empty parts.

    Crawlers nest though, that's a memory I'm sure would resonate with the most people.

    The idea came from another thread, but only for 24man fights. I thought, if u were limited to the FF14 format, which zones stand out to you more? Which were you're favorites? etc etc. (Because of the limitations)

    I have my own opinions as to which stand out more, but I'm more interested to hear what other people feel.

    I don't think it would be possible. I mean, the zones in FFXI are massive compared to this game. Something like Sky alone is probably as big as all of the Black Shroud.

    About the only thing I'd want would be a ferry that travels in real time, like the Selbina/Mhaura ferry.
