Help me choose: RDM vs BLM

Alright let's make one thing clear,
When people refer to to ex/savage and such, they mean very first kill for the first few week. (a bit more for the ultimate).

So unless you're motivated to be in the server first competition to clear savage (the hardest) content and the upcoming Ultimate, the choice between RDM / BLM should should depend on wether or not you'll be in a static if you really want to be the most useful to your static party.

As part of a static, you'll aways play with the same people therefor any actual support you can bring to the team will have great value since every rez you do allow to see more of the fight. In that case, RDM would be a welcomed choice. And that's assuming you're grouping with a static that care about quick progression. Many don't and will bring you no matter the job you play as long as it fits the party comp.

On the other hand, if you'll mostly do raids through party finder (usually the case when you start the game or don't have time to play specific evening), then I'm sorry but wether you play RDM over BLM will have a negligeble impact because your party will change all the time and 7 players skill has more impact than your ability to raise.
Rezzing is great but spam rezzing bad players won't change the outcome since most pf break after a few wipes.
So it will mostly come down to your ability to stay alive and properly do the strat.

Finally, what I said is assuming you'll actually do any form of savage content.

If you'll limit yourself to normal stuff and, at the very most, Byakku extreme, really at this point pick the one you enjoy the most.
The content you'll do is very easy and your party should need any raise. (nothing healer can't handle)
