Thread: Rumors of features for the RP community?

Hey!

So, this friend of mine keeps hyping me up about future plans of different features for roleplayers in this game, yet I have a very hard time finding any information about this (not that I'm great at finding sources) and I take everything he says with a grain of salt lately (no offence to him what so ever). One of the examples I got were plans of areas which features cross-realm so that RP'ers can gather without having to transfer to other servers and leave behind their friends who do not RP.

Is there anyone here who knows this to be true? or other features that Square Enix has plans for in this game? Just a confirmation from someone else would be nice, but if there's someone who could provide a link with more detailed information that would be amazing!

Either way, this is not a necessity as I do not RP as much as I used to, but it could be nice to have the option to escape to something I find calming and time-consuming.

Actually, the european community kinda has the same issue... at least regarding the french one, that is on both Moogle and Ragnarok, but yeah, really doubt it as well.

Yet, Yoshida did say, lately, that he'd be more focused on RP features, but I think that's basically all the new emotes we got recently, and so on. Maybe, MAYBE, one day we'll get speech bubbles, but that will, I think, be the end of it, as I don't see any point in cross-server areas right now, besides RPing...

I see, well then thanks at least for the replies! This helps to clear things up and to re-adjust my expectations. Either way, I'll still enjoy all this game has to offer!

I haven't heard anything like that to be honest and given the spagetti code these games are running on I'm not sure how it would even work to be frank.

This will probably come off as weird, but I actually have a direct answer for this one. I was one of a few people, I believe, that asked about cross server structures in an interview with Yoshi-P at the Stormblood pre-launch event last year! I want to say MTQ also asked something similar, though I'm not 100% sure.

Though it was for the general community at large, not specifically targeting the roleplay community. That being said, the answer I got from Yoshida was more along the lines of "We've been looking into the idea of making it possible to teleport to a singular zone on another server."

So, if you were on say Gilgamesh, you might be able to teleport to Balmung's New Gridania specifically. At least, that was the example I was given. He didn't say, however, whether or not that was currently possible or planning on being implemented. Just that it's something they'd been looking at.

They will probably add more emotes to mog station and call it new content "for the RPers". After all, they know that they can milk another $7-$20 for a 3 second emote.

Yet, we got free emotes lately... A dozen ones.
