The Jade Stoa Extreme is epic, easy but epic!

did not see a Byakko extreme thread, just really wanted to put it out there.., the Jade Stoa (extreme) is great!!

dodging the red balls.., can time the side stepping real nice (caster)..and get close without a "lag" hit

and the jump / fall sequence is really fresh too.

(feels like parts of the fight were "Nier Automata" inspired somehow)...


this fight really is the right direction when experimenting with fresh mechanics in FFXIV..

even if the fight is too easy.., practically or almost easier than any heavenward extreme encounter backthen (still need to be focused and rng can make at times things hazzy).., even if the jump/ fall part loses its touch after a few runs.., still realt enjoy it!

enjoy it more than Shinryu extreme or any SB extreme trial so far (having to read off cast moves of the wings in Shinryu ex is just way less fun, compared to dodging the ball aoes in tight spaces in Byakko ex, even if its easier.)

this is one of the best exrteme fights so far (even if one of the easiest... and dat tank LB is OP there, ..but tanks can have fun LBing too;.. and im general, easy fights csn be fun too)

maybe the fight is just so fun for casters (especially blm)??

I'm looking forward to getting to this fight! I've done normal mode of course, which was already pretty cool. Just need to update one or two pieces of gear to get my ilvl high enough. Already got my Mendacity accessory for the week, but I just need to actually win some parts from Sigma v1n or v2n and/or maybe get a coin from Rabnasty to augment a Creation piece.

dont need much gear for this encounter.., just as a caster a tick more vit can help (especially when learning it, like in PFs).. but not mandatory, ..would recommend food though

imo normal and extreme are a lot the same, jump/falling part is even 100% the same I think.., . but stil love the fight (last part is slightly different for sure..., imo more fun, unless rng totally fvcks you over xD.., but way less anoying than exdeath savage blackholes with pugs)

As I said to some friends, I think that using LB3 tank to avoid dealing with the second tiger spawn should've not be a thing. however I'm glad that is possible since it makes LB more than just a burst dmg.

That said the split stack should've been tuned differently

The only problem I have with this trial are the bugs, don't know if they got fixed with the maintenance yesterday, but as a Tank it feels awful when my OT gets instagibbed for no reason or I get grabbed twice in a row and die.

They did. I ran Byakko EX all day and never saw 1 glitch.

I like the fresh new approach but this fight is honestly too easy. I mean, I think Lakshmi was harder. The falling part is unique, but I’m not a fan of those cut scene phases- it takes momentum away from a fight . The button mashing is ok in shin or susano, but I honestly think shinex is the perfect primal. The fight is complex and rewarding and it escalates from the tail run to finish . I give jade stoa 6/10

I've farmed it to death, but it's one of my favorite Ex Primals. I cracked up the first time I did NM, and Ex is great for casual PUGs and teaching.

This is definitely a funnier fight than Shin Ryu. (Although I've gotten used to Shin and I actually enjoy the fight)
