I really hate the Phantom Train

I have to say, I haven't felt this awful about endgame content since the time I was verbally assaulted in a Zurvan Extreme learning party.

But Sigmascape V1.0 savage just destroys me inside. I die to the tankbuster often. DRK has practically zero ways to save themselves if an idiot kills all the wall adds (they might be able to use plunge, but I find the timing there to be stupidly tight). Often run out of resources in the adds phase, and the chimney dies so quickly I get 5 gcds maximum in a good party. The Cabin add for tanks is terrifying with how much unmitigated damage it can deal. Every now and then, the headlight during the ghost crossing will push me into an add. And I'm still not 100% sure I'm dealing with Head On right.

Thanks to the WAR overhaul, I have no idea if I'm doing my rotation right or not. I never knew what I was doing with DRK in the first place. But the most galling, upsetting part of this is that it's the first stage. So if I want to earn my place in savage, I'm going to have to clear this every week.

I haven't felt this garbage at the game in a long time.

Are you talking about getting picked up by the agony ghost? if your IR is up you can kill it in two fc's before he even casts his tank buster. Or you can go defience and kill it the slow way using your cooldowns. or you can Holm and deliverance and kill it. but your timing needs to be good or you will come out dead.

Cleared it as WAR yesterday and found the fight super fun, it feels like it might be harder for DRK tho as my DRK co tank felt he was low on mitigation pretty often (though TBN helped me alot as I was MTing), for the cabin add I went on Defiance used vengeance + thrill of battle to tank the TB, swapped to Deliverance and killed it without using IR (saved it to 5x FC on the train after that), head on I just mitigate and keep hitting him, there is one TB that I was low on mitigation and had to use Holmgang, for the bombs we tank swapped and I dropped it on the south, it seems you can also just drop it on NE while the party stays on NW but we didn't want to tax the healers even more when there was already so many deaths.

Worst scenario IMO is if the ghost wall is all the way behind and you have a chain and no IR, in this case my DRK friend had to provoke and use Living Dead, because the chain deals huge damage if you don't go near the boss.

As it is, I feel like I waste IR if I use it on the Agony ghost. So I take Inner Beast + Reprisal + Vengeance to survive the first hit, then equilibrium, then go into deliverance stance.

It feels like Inner Release comes up at the perfect times to screw me over, since it always seems to be distracting me from tankbusters.

This is savage. Don't expect to faceroll it, you seem like you don't have much fun playing savage. Wiping is essential and common, try to adjust and learn from it. You have to put a bit of effort into it, that is the idea, not sure why you hate the fight for it when you only have problems with your team to deal the mechanics better.

I've managed to clear a9s-a12s, and o1s-o3s. But those were always with statics. Due to issues I'd rather not go into, I'm having to freelance it now. And it feels a bit like I'm always the one holding the group back.

I mean, I've cleared it now, but it feels rather unfair compared with the starting raid of previous savage tiers.

Probably because Refurbisher and Alte Roite were just glorified Striking Dummies (and the latter didn't even qualify as Savage); I personally welcome this increase in difficulty, as it feels more like a Savage-level entry fight. Keep at it and keep improving.

    Fair enough.

Probably the nastiest thing about the need for tankswaps is that the fight doesn't just kill characters, it basically has it's own Out of the Action debuff, that can leave the maintank to eat a tankswap mechanic on their own. And it perfectly highlights the biggest drawback of holmgang: you can't drop a light mine and make it back in time to apply Holmgang, and healers normally aren't prepared with enough shielding for you to take a high connectivity AA + doom strike.

Failing the tankbuster is just the issue of it lining up to hit me when I'm focused on IR. Which is mostly my fault.

    You're doing it wrong.
