My subscription will be lapsing soon (everybody but like 1 or 2 people I know quit when fees started), so I really hope details on this come out before I can't take action.

I'd definitely prefer merger to transfers, as then if people come back in the future, we won't be scattered on different servers. And if they do do transfers, I hope that people who are inactive at the time of the transfer will be able to use the transfer whenever they reactivate.

I hope they do mergers, personally.

Alot of my Linkshell from FFXI played XIV awhile back on my server but don't plan to play until 2.0, so Mergers would benefit much more as everyone would just move (or not..and people would move to my server lol)

I also see people in Ul'dah often but that's generally it. and then there's getting an Exp party or buying mid-level gear off the market place which is abit troublesome.

When I joined all of the servers had at least medium population, that obviously only lasted about a month (if that). Now my server seems to sit on the low pop end. From what I understand I think all of them do aside from Besaid, Figaro, Selbina, etc. With that said though, I kind of like the low population... its cozy. As someone else said, you feel like you know everyone, even if you don't.

When I played XI I was on a low pop server as well, it got merged into Valefor, and now I don't even remember the name of the original... Will this be Kashuan's fate as well?

The last thing I wanna hear is "Hmm we're not sure what the situation is with these populations..."

Even non-player non forum users can find this info in 3 seconds flat. YOU have access to server info do you think we believe that you need time to observe the non existent population?!

Going to tackle your points here...
They need time to examine server populations to plan how the merge will work(will it be world>world merges, spread the populations of dead worlds to live worlds, or user chooses)
If they rush into this chaos will follow, they want to make sure that all worlds following the merge will be populated enough with equal persons of all time zones so you can always find a group for whatever.

And going off topic: The Goobbue mount was a gift, from the devs to us the player base for supporting the game.

In case you're worried about having to change your name, you can go here and type in your character's name. It will display all the people who have the same name as you.

Type either your whole name to see identical matches or just one of your names if you want to see who has same first or last names.

I'd bet there are very few people who actually need to change their name because of a duplicate. Unless your name is like Sakura Chan or something lol (there are only 4 of these actually :P)
