    Logitech G13 Thumbstick Issue

Hello, hope I'm posting this in the right section...

I'm using a Logitech G13 gameboard and oddly, the thumbstick seems to stick/pull to certain directions. It seems to be intermittent so it's hard to pinpoint what is causing this, whether it be the game or the hardware.

I've experienced this only a few times outside of game however, the game would be running and is minimized at the time. I also seem to experience this issue more so in dungeons/trials, etc.

I've rarely, if ever, noticed this in the open world. Any idea what may be causing this or has anyone else experienced a similar issue using this particular piece of hardware?

Is your issue that your actual thumbstick sticks, or the game acts like it's stuck since your character keeps moving in that direction?

The game acts like its stuck and the character will move ever so slightly. I'll be mid-cast and then will scoot over just a bit and interrupt my casting.

It doesn't seem to stay stuck so for example, I don't just continue running in that direction. I'll just move maybe 1-2 yalms or something like that.

    That's strange...

I have a somewhat similar issue going on, only mine will just force me to lose control of my character for a second or two and she will veer completely off in a direction. They could be the similar issues is the only reason I mention it though.

It definitely sounds similar although, the first time I experienced this was pre 4.2. I first experienced this during my first adventure into The Drowned City of Skalla, about 2 weeks before this recent patch.

It's oddly intermittent so it's making it real hard to pinpoint what the cause is.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

To clarify, the issue is that your character moves slightly when they are not supposed to correct? Or is it that it isn't moving in the way you want them to move?

Have you been able to replicate this with any other device (such as another controller or a traditional keyboard)?

I'm assuming that this gameboard has it's now set of drivers, have you tried reinstalling them?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

To clarify, the character moves slightly when they are not supposed to. I have not been able to replicate the issue on any other device as this set up is the only one that I use.

I also have not been able to replicate this behavior outside of the game (when the game is not running) nor in any other game.

The gameboard has all current drivers and software installed. I have tried to reinstall them just for giggles but this did not solve the issue and since the issue is intermittent, it's difficult for me to pinpoint what causes this.

    Odd indeed!

Thank you for the update reaktorblue,

This game board has reprogrammable keys correct (my knowledge of this game board is admittedly pretty limited)? Can you reprogram or calibrate the thumbstick? Either through the game or the game board itself? It may be that the game may be misinterpreting something because the calibration, but I can't say for sure.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

As far as I'm aware, there are no calibration features. I'll have to do some research to see if this is available. As an update, this is still happening and just happened during Rabanastre which made the last boss fight extremely difficult. After the fight, during the loot roll, it seemed to not be happening and since leaving the instance, again is not happening.

I'd swear it's some sort of lag issue that causes it, at least that's what it feels like. I can take my hands completely off the KB/M and the character will stutter step and sometimes just take off for no reason.

Hello Reaktorblue, thank you for your response.

Does this happen at a specific time?

    Hope to be of assistance.
