Innability to assign best gear during dungeon runs

Recently tried to assign best gear for my class, as i am leveling, through dungeon runs. Gives message about changing classes as being not able. There exists an issue where i am not changing classes but rather gear. We as players that are dungeon grinding get gear for the classes we are running as, and this message pops making us manually change the gear per piece which is acceptable for some reason. Previously we could change all gear for our class before the patch, in terms of staying as the same class. Would SE care to make it back to where we are able to assign the best gear for our class mid dungeon. For example running as a whm getting a gear piece for whm, and being able to assign all gear pieces for that class mid dungeon as it helps progression thtough said dungeon. Thank you SE!
