    Bought a physical version of Stormblood, but the key is only for the windows version

    I started Final Fantasy XIV with the Steam version of the Game and I wanted to add the Expansion Stormblood to my account. I bought the Physical version at a local gamestop, and later noticed that the key wont work on the Mogstation. Is there any way I can activate it onto my current account?

    Unfortunately, there isn't a physical Steam version of the game. The Steam and non-Steam version are not compatible so the code you have will not work on your account.

    The physical version of the game is the Windows version of the game. But I started my account on the Steam version. Is there a way to use the code on my account which was made with the steam version of the game? if not I kinda threw 35 bucks out of the window then...

    Hello Justinde75,

    You are playing the Steam version on a PC, but the game differentiates the Steam and non-Steam (Windows) versions. Think of them like different platforms, you can't play the PS4 version on your PC, just like you can't play the physical, Windows version on your Steam Square Enix account. It's unfortunate, but it cannot be applied to your account if you are using Steam.

    So do I have to make a new account with the Windows version so I can play Stormblood? Whats going to happen with the month of subscription I payed for?

    I apologize for this unfortunate situation. If you create a new account you would not be able to take the game time with you. I would suggest trying to get a refund and purchase the game from steam.
