Been trying to send my CSCC submersible to Deep-sea Site 7 for the otter minion. The last 5 times the ratings are C, and the log complains about "volcanic activity". Is the rating entirely RNG?

As for the build, I'm unsure as to what points to the minimum favor stat. Might need to build extra parts.

The ratings are meaningless. They're based on the amount of items you collect, but don't take into account the value of the actual item. It is and isn't RNG, but you can basically ignore it.

Volcanic Activity is a weather effect that shows up 50% of the time and drops items of lesser value. Clear and Calm has a 25% chance of occurring but, even then, the Abroader Otter is incredibly rare.

I can't quite tell whether you meant that you're using a Shark part or a Syldra part, but the Shark version of CSCC doesn't have decent enough stats to farm for the Abroader Otter. At 130 Surveillance, it's 10 points short from meeting the minimum requirements. 90 Favor is 15 points short on spawning second anomalies, so you'll only get one attempt per voyage.

If you want a simpler boat to attempt to farm it, try the CUUC fit to farm Deep-Sea Site 7 (W). On the other hand, you can also build a CCSyC if you want to travel to more destinations than that.

It's a Syldra part. The submersible has like 190 surveillance if I recall right, but it's missing some favor and our FC made a 4th submersible, but in the process we used our spare bow, so now I have no way to swap bows between subs. I think we'll make an Unkiu bow as you suggested.

The rating determines bonus exp when leveling, beyond that it's useless.
