Right. I thought so but I still have not unlocked the Unidentified Derelict. I have been trying for weeks and my submarine is currently level 36. Is it unlocked from Deep Site 3 as the graphic says or am I just massively unlucky?

It also depends on which sub parts you're running with. If you're still using the basic Shark parts then you won't necessarily have the surveillance to find the locations/unlock the next subs. Crafting just the Unkiu Stern can make a HUGE difference. I hope this helps some.

ETA: Ultimately it all comes down to RNGeezus' whims, but having the better stats at least puts you in the range of 'possible chance at'.

My sub has full Unkiu parts since it got leveled enough to use them. I'm not thrilled to make the new parts just to unlock the second submarine, but this is a joke right now. It came back empty-handed, again. Doesn't the Derelict unlock other important sectors too?

Unk is enough to unlock all the zones. You might have better luck with more surveillance but it is just down to RNG. I took me 2 weeks to find one of the zones. It can be very annoying.

wow that's terrible luck, with a UUUU sub it never took more than a couple tries to get unlocks. Airships on the other hand... think our first was rank 40 before we got past sector 8.

You don't need to build an entire new sub, just one or two of the newer parts can make a huge difference and someone further back in this thread was kind enough to put together this stats calculator, and if you saved your Shark parts you may need to build even less. Any boost to your Surveillance and Favor *should* help (RNGeezus is still a douchecanoe, though).
