I would like to confirm once again.
Which build is the best(optimized build) to farm only abroader otters? CUUC?

I can't remember exactly... but...
if that's the one that doesn't have the range to reach the furthest sector but also has enough favor to hit DSS7 twice and has about a 25 hour return time for only going there then yes I believe that is correct.

Yeah, seems like that's the one then. It has 170 surv, 30 retrieval, 110 speed, 50 range(enough to hit DSS7) and 110 favor(enough to roll for 2 attemps for the otter i believe) and it returns in 25 hours yes.

Made a note about this a few posts ago, but I worked out and added a couple more routes for the CUSyC fit:

CUSyC
Route 1: Deep-Sea Site 7 (W) > Sunken Vault (AD) > Stone Temple (AC) = 3 Days, 1 Minute
Route 2: Neolith Island (I) > Deep-Sea Site 3 (E) > Deep-Sea Site 7 (W) = 1 Day, 20 Hours, 50 Minutes
Route 3: Deep-Sea Site 7 (W) > The Rimilala Shelf (V) > Flickering Dip (Y) = 2 Days, 21 Hours, 40 Minutes
Route 4: Deep-Sea Site 7 (W) > The Rimilala Shelf (V) > The Wreckage of the Headway (Z) = 2 Days, 20 Hours, 57 Minutes
Route 5: Deep-Sea Site 7 (W) > Sunken Vault (AD) > The Wreckage of the Headway (Z) = 2 Days, 23 Hours, 7 Minutes


With regards to CUUC for short distance farming, a couple of route options might be as follows:

CUUC
Route 1: Deep-Sea Site 7 (W) = 1 Day, 1 Hour, 36 Minutes
Route 2: Deep-Sea Site 3 (E) > Deep-Sea Site 7 (W) = 1 Day, 4 Hours, 49 Minutes
Route 3: Neolith Island (I) > Deep-Sea Site 3 (E) = 23 Hours, 14 Minutes


Considering the difference between the two fits is a simple swap between an Unkiu and Syldra part, these two shiptypes work really well with each other.


Edit: I guess it's even better that it turned out this way because it makes the leveling guide a lot easier to parse.

So question, assuming gil is no object wouldn't a CSySySy be the best overall sub to farm whatever you might want? It's slow but it has 160 surv, 100 retrieve, 95 range, 40 speed, and 130 favor.

I dislike specializing and would rather just have 4 subs i can send out to get whatever with a reasonable return.

You are trading a lot of speed for retrieval.

The current theory is that retrieval is really useful for getting the common stuff (crafting materials, lower lv. materia, Company Crafting unlock stuff) but it doesn't seem to affect the rare retrieval yields.

If you are mostly after the rare drops the preferred builds will get to make twice as many trips as yours and will probably find a lot more rares.

If you want to go slow, you need to increase the range so you can hit more zones in one trip. Ideally twice as many(or more) zones in twice the time (or less) as the faster ships.

I don't know if anyone else has done any research here on fast vs slow boats, but I think the most important factor would be how often you will check them. If you are only going to check them once a week or so go slow, if you are going to be playing a lot fast will probably net you slightly more loot.

It effect things by a liiittle bit. But i do agree that having a CUSyC build is overall much better.

Not a very appealing set of route times compared to the CUSyC. The 60 Retrieval loss is a bitter pill to swallow in difference, but slightly increased Kamacite gathering isn't worth the detriment in stats and convenience to make the CSySySy viable (which hopefully says a bit from me since I made a long post about the latter fit a while ago in favor of it). It's simply too slow and the range sits at an awkward spot.
