I got another set of results in and put them up on my Google spreadsheet. Repairing all subs to full and hitting DSS7 first did appear to drastically reduce -- but NOT eliminate -- the failures (CSCFIFFE). Out of 12 attempts, 11 subs were able to hit both anomalies successfully. I still did not get any otters though, even though I had favorable weather for some of those trips. I've refitted my subs with the parts I have on hand so that half are CUUC and half are CUSC, and I'm sending them straight out to DSS7 and back, which will take almost exactly one day. I'm wondering if boosting the surveillance even higher might get a better chance for otters. I'll add the data to the sheet when I have it.
finallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy on CUUC build

Is Otter selling at your server?

This build is a kamacite beast! 51 in one trip!
Build is CWWC
it's funny how you have a retrieval of 90 yet it still says you have "poor retrieval levels". like do you need over 100 for it not to say that?
Retrieval is a stat that increases the collection rate, starting from Poor and going to Normal, Above Average, and then Optimal. While I was reading the Airship thread and checking for minimum values for the Iron Voyage drop (110 Surveillance), I couldn't help but notice that some of the voyages coming back were reporting as Optimal Retrieval for the most difficult drop on that map (with Retrieval between 115 to 130).
So, that got me thinking; What if the Optimal Retrieval is in lockstep with minimum Surveillance? Surely there's a fit that could work with that kind of theory.
And... slim pickings, to be honest. With our knowledge of what is required for the Abroader Otter, the distance required for Deep-Sea Site 7 (W), and tying that together with a high Retrieval stat, this is what we get to choose from:
Knowing that a Favor of 105 spawns double anomalies, I'm thinking the only worthwhile contender for consideration might be the CSyWSy build. However, Iron Voyages required an Optimal Retrieval for them to drop 2 instead of 1 for anything less, so it may not be even possible to pump the Retrieval stat high enough to make a double Abroader Otter drop feasible.
Edit: The Submersible thread and the theories/conclusions that we've worked out have given me a better insight into what I'll be doing with regards to Airships as well. It's a little disappointing that a lot of the information was buried and didn't get updated into the OP of that particular thread. However, I would be remiss if I were to say that a lot of the discoveries made there didn't influence what we know here now. There's a couple of airship fits that I'm going to test out and will be reporting the results in that thread too.
