Unk is enough to unlock all the zones. You might have better luck with more surveillance but it is just down to RNG. I took me 2 weeks to find one of the zones. It can be very annoying.

wow that's terrible luck, with a UUUU sub it never took more than a couple tries to get unlocks. Airships on the other hand... think our first was rank 40 before we got past sector 8.

My sub has full Unkiu parts since it got leveled enough to use them. I'm not thrilled to make the new parts just to unlock the second submarine, but this is a joke right now. It came back empty-handed, again. Doesn't the Derelict unlock other important sectors too?

You don't need to build an entire new sub, just one or two of the newer parts can make a huge difference and someone further back in this thread was kind enough to put together this stats calculator, and if you saved your Shark parts you may need to build even less. Any boost to your Surveillance and Favor *should* help (RNGeezus is still a douchecanoe, though).

I have a request of everyone, to help me update the wiki, could you all also post what you've gotten back from older areas? Since the patch that added all of the new ones had a notice that some drops and locations had been changed I'd like to try and find out what still drops from those locations for others as well. Deep-sea Site 1 now gives Unaspected Crystals


Kanayama now gives Balsa Wood Lumber and Cloud Mica


Komura now gives Empty Crystals


Ivory Shoals now gives Unaspected Crystals


It seems like they either shifted where the Workshop materials come from, or they added various workshop materials to nodes which didn't have them before.
