I have a sub at lvl 60 another at lvl 52 I've been doing constant deployments and I still haven't discovered anywhere past The Upwell (AA). I'm using CUCC giving me 180 Surv and 105 Favor.

Am I missing something basic, do I need to change my build or am I just being unlucky ?

You are either visiting the wrong zones or have very bad RNG. As long as you keep hitting the upwell you will eventually get the next zones.

One FC took about 3 weeks to unlock, other took a couple times, REALLY bad vs good RNG. When the new sections came out, the same thing happened, they kept popping up with one, the other took about two weeks to unlock one sector, ridiculous.

Has anyone gotten cocobolo lumber? I've been sending 4 ships at the new sectors non stop and haven't seen a single one despite sending them to sectors where most folks say they come from.

what are your sub builds? are you sending them to the right sectors (I'm assuming you are). If you're not getting Cocobolo lumber then you have bad rng or your surveillance rating is not high enough to grab it. i upgraded three subs to CUYC and even then it took almost a month before i was able to get 18 lumber to unlock the last set of blueprints.

I suspect the drop rate on the lumber is intentionally low. Some FCs are going to have good RNG in getting it and others bad. We're at 6 of 18 so far and for the last month I've been sending our 3 subs only to the sectors that drop it.

Another thing to be considered is whether very high surveillance is working against us in this case. If other items on the loot table for a sector have a higher surveillance requirement, we have a smaller chance of getting the lumber back when we use subs with the higher surveillance. Did anyone pinpoint what minimum surveillance is needed for cocobolo lumber?

Cocobolo Lumber drops from Clear and Calm weather patterns which requires decent Surveillance. The minimum required is 145 160.

Hmm I've only got 2 subs that meet the 145 surveillance threshold, still kinda odd to never have seen even one bring back any yet. Might have to reconfigure the other two or make some more of the older parts to raise surveillance.

Cocobolo lumber is pretty rare, but keep in mind it isn't even that important.
All the schematics unlocked use tons of Pure Titanium Ore and Cryptomeria Logs, which drop in the same sectors and need just as high surveillance. You should instead be targeting these, as you will get plenty of Cocobolo on the way to getting enough for even one set of new submarine parts.
