The Abysmal rating is mostly meaningless. It's based on how much stuff total you bring back, we think. So if you build for high retrieval, you'll get better ratings...but you WON'T get more rare drops! I've gotten otters on "abysmal" ratings and nothing but crap glass on "satisfactory" ratings.
