The dyes are never referenced and never make sense. People just spend tries looking for the right 'family' (i.e., browns) and then try to narrow it down.

But then again, it doesn't make sense that only ONE shiva weapon gets gold, so... pretty much, the game is a crapshoot.

Highland boots dyed halatali yellow give gold too, and the blue fox hide is easier to get/cheaper than the chinchilla hide.

Glad I have everything leveled and use all the shiva weapons for glamour already.

I do want to echo that using the rare dyes is stupid, and the color combos look AWFUL...

Now I just hope the spring set is not locked behind getting 100 multiple times cause this is such an awful gil sink if you can't make the stuff.

Had a friend make my boots for me, but the dyes were still expensive.

Wouldn't mind if it was one rare here or there but If I recall jet black and pure white have been used twice now.

So that's why the shiva weapons don't work for some of them, because the Hailstorm Eikonic gear is used instead.
And for the ones that do work (like Samurai) it's because there is no Hailstorm Eikonic gear for them.

That's incorrect. The DRG Shiva weapon only gives three stars, it has no Hailstorm Eikonic gear. The objective is to get gold without dye if you want 100, and right now the only way to get 100 is with SAM's Shiva katana.

I don't believe the Eikonic gear gives gold without being dyed rose pink, so I don't think it's possible to get 100 with it.

Alternatively, even if you have MNK leveled, which can wear the same outfit except the weapon, you can't get 100 because the Shiva MNK fists don't work.

It's a really silly system. But I suppose for those of us that level everything we're in a good boat.

It seemed so certain it was any dyeable Eikonic weapon, with the glacier set and a Shiva bracelet...what gives. ;_;
Does any of that give gold?
