This week I got 82 with an Alpine Coat (Calamity Salvager) and Hyuran Thighboots (Male).

Edit: 94 with Tantalus Breeches and the above items.

Still no luck with the rings.

Yeah, that set up should be fine, since nothing's race restricted on that list.

The clothing items got gold without any dyes.

Glacial Coat (didn’t expect it to work, but if the Alpine Coat worked then it seemed worth a try)
