Someone said they got 100 with the weapon as soot black, but boots jet black. The only this makes sense is the BiS outfit is actually worth 101 points. There's something adding an extra point somewhere.

would anyone kindly confirm this?
I have an FC mate who dyed feet Jet Black but the weapon Soot Black and got 100. I don't have a screenshot for proof sadly.

It's been confirmed that the Thavnarian Sarousels give 9 points instead of the normal 8 points for undyed gold score. This might be a mistake by SE, but anyway it means the total worth of that BiS outfit is 101. The correct dyes are worth 3 points, and anything in the similar color is 2 points. So jet black is +3 and soot black is +2. So yeah just swapping one jet black out for soot black will only cause you to loose one point, but that's ok if everything else is correct, you will get 100.

I was able to get 100 points using Soot Black dye on my feet slot instead of Jet Black, so now I'm wondering if maybe the rare dyes aren't ever actually required for this.

Can confirm, 99 with soot black on weapon.

I enjoy these weeks where we can obtain items easily by revisiting old content solo. Especially when it is a leveling dungeon, and if you go on the job or shared gear job, you will eventually get the item you need no matter what.

Thavnairian Sarouel and Thavnairian Tights don't seem interchangeable this week, tried it with the tights and was 1 point shy at 99. Put on the Sarouel and scored 100. (the tights were still gold when dyed the apple green just not gold enough)

Right, the tights are 4-star undyed. 4-star undyed and gold undyed just differ by a point.

Less obvious after you dye it, but the point calculation is still the same.
