Did you wear stuff in the other slots? those count as well, wear on every slots ANYTHING is worth massiv points.
Also dye everything, if you get the right color (snow white/jet black/gold) you get points too.

I'd also be curious to know how the Nameless Hakama (SAM's pants from unlock quest) or similar might do, although might not be considered or pretty low since you can't actually acquire those at all again after the quest.

Out of curiosity, since the survival shirt did decent, I tried the extreme survival shirt (35 craft) and got a 1 star on it (dyed snow white), Scion shoes also got 1 star.

I have level 17 characters on a couple of worlds that are using basic starting quest gear. Both scored 52, getting 1 star ratings on the key item slots. That's much better than I was getting at first (38) with just key item slots equipped even though I had 3 gold coin items. Definitely all slots have an impact on your score so have something equipped in the non-key item slots even if they don't match the theme.

I'm also not really that worried about how this first week characters needed to have items from HW or later to get a high score for the bonus MGP. Just participating earns 10k MGP regardless of score, which is going to be pretty generous to new players just starting to get into the game since it will add up quickly if they just keep participating. With luck, future weeks will have less demanding themes so lower level characters without lots of gil or crafting resources will have their chance to shine.

Did some experimenting with a friend on this. Obviously, system is looking for certain identifiers and I think I can explain some of them after the two of us got our heads together.

We noticed that items that were HQ and dyed with PREMIUM DYE would score higher than the same items NQ and in vendor dye or not dyed at all--with the exception of the items that are rewards and/or not craftable.

This makes sense considering Masked Rose is really Redolent Rose of the Weaver's Guild. Obviously hand-made items of high quality would be of higher value at least from a lore standpoint. So if you can get it HQ I'd do it, though further testing is needed.

And dye really does matter. But I don't think the color does. Just the rarity. Also, actually read his responses because sometimes they offer further clues into what he is actually looking for. (Like the remark about Doman Martial stuff).

So:

Have all slots filled.
HQ SHOULD improve its rating.
Premium Dye (or any dye) WILL improve its rating (Premium Dye is best though).
Read his comments for clues.

Which comments? Those he does while checking your glamour out? When i tried it four times, i got four times the same dialog: he got flowers as a gift and tells you those where roses. (at least he does that in german) So that cant be a hint.

Based on earlier testing, HQ does not improve the rating. Specifically, someone tested HQ and NQ bridesmaid slippers and got the same score for each. It's possible, however, that there's some amount of RNG involved, which might explain how so many people are trying nearly identical outfits and scoring anywhere from 78 to 92 despite having the same items (and why some people with a soot black long skirt have it screenshotted as gold while mine was 4-star when I scored it earlier today).

I suspect the non-hinted slots play an important part of your final score as well. Obviously not wearing anything at all in those slots imposes a huge score penalty so you can see that they do factor into it.

5/5 golds in the hinted slots + random things every else probably gets you to 80/100, and taking the effort to match your other slots to the theme without help is probably what gets you to 90+ and 100. You can think of it like bonus points for going above and beyond.

I haven't had a proper chance to try the Glamour Report yet, unlocked it and had a gander but real life unexpected got me busy so be a while till I can try it. Anyway, would be cool if someone could clear up how exactly it works.

From the understanding it reports you based on Glamour, so do you need to have a gearset(s) with all the required parts glammed and then get it reported or is it a matter of just having the individual gear items in your inventory and place them in the slots to complie the report? If it's a gearset thing then I'm guessing this would work well with the Glamour Plates obviously providing you have the gear in the dresser to do it?
