taking the usual items does pretty well, but im told i need something to embellish my look.
I'm guessing the non-hinted slots are the key to getting past the 80s and reaching 90-100. A bit more challenging since you have no hints to help you at all (apart from the overall theme) and it comes down only to taste.

It's unlikely to be a monocle, which would be GSM, as the item is specifically meant to be silk.Has anyone found a hat that isn't lvl 60 caster specific or the songbird hat for males? I was thinking the Torturer's Monocle maybe? From The Thousand Maws of Toto-rak, it's only lvl 24 so it makes sense for lowbies as well. I can't try it though because I'm out of tries atm

so, since it's quite clear that applying a dye can raise the rating of an item I'd assume that the system works this way: we'd have to figure out items that give a gold rating on their own, and then raise the rating further by applying dye to them, whereas rare/metallic dyes seem to give more points

crafting items are up to 5m+ each and shirt selling for 16m. lol

I suppose even if you don't need the MGP or don't participate in the event, you can still make loads of gil from everyone else trying to score.

Indeed. Even on Balmung (server with the most flooded of flooded economies) Falconer's Shirts are going for 600k. The hemp needed to make it is 200k each. This will not be a friendly game to those low on gil. I'm thinking of all those shirts I desynthed.

Mmhm. Was really hoping this would be a thing that just pulled from reasonably accessible crafts or NPC shops, ARR dungeons at most. Level 60 crafts, HW dungeon accessories and Centurio gear, rare dyes, it's all leaving a pretty sour taste for me.
That said, I suppose I do also recognize that the items they could've pulled from pre-HW seem pretty repetitive, uninspired, with few unique offerings. Still not happy about it, though.
