Solo potd revived?

If a player is logged in to a client, logging into a second client with the same service account will automatically log that player out of the first client. That player may then continue to play on the second client.

That mean, if I read it right, if I get hit by a DC I can relog immediate. Less fear on doing potd solo?

You know, the fear of killing a week or more of time there, for a dc, is real. Did someone experienced this fast login-after-dc already?

Unless your disconnections completely shut down the game I am not sure you are going to see a difference... Unless you decide to open a second client as soon as you think you might be dcing...

Or have a second client running in the background to quickly log in during the possible event of a DC.

I don’t think that’s what it’s for. It’ll be to stop people from being logged in from multiple devices at once (eg. playing two characters simultaneously). As far as the system is concerned, you’re still logging out and in again when you log in on the second computer.

It's both to prevent multiboxing and to aid is getting logged back. So it's to prevent exploiters/account sharing and is a QoL improvement to legit players.

This just rubs me the wrong way there are people capable of multiboxing legit just look at the guy that 8-man a9s with multiple controllers and foot pedals.

As amusing as that is, it still allowed for some shady doings, such as bot farming.

I always thought multi-boxing not being a problem was an artifact of how difficult it was for all but the best PCs to run multiple clients in 1.x days.

I’m sure there are amazing people out there who can actually multibox successfully, but that’s no consolation when you’re stuck healing a dungeon with an undergeared tank and twin DPSes who are only moving one-at-a-time, doing one-and-a-bit person’s worth of damage...
