    Glamour system useless.

I was waiting it with some eagerness, finally a way to glamour different healers in different sets and other such joy. Having to have glamour item in it for the duration, no problem. However it turns out that wasn't meant to be. Items getting destroyed when put there makes it impossible to use for RNG based items, and glamour plates can't include inventory items. They said earlier things can be taken out later, why change that? I guess it is to avoid people using it as temporary equipment inventory, but as it is, it's utterly useless.

They clearly stated from the beginning that things could not be taken out, i thought that was common sense till all these threads started cropping up. The misinformation was a fan mistranslation so the fault of all these ruffled feathers lies with the fanbase, now lets quit making 100 threads about the glamour closet! Besides its hardly useless, i can shove 99% of my glams into it with a peaceful state of mind, if i have something a class im leveling can use i simply wont put it in till that class has leveled beyond the need for that item. It's a bandaid fix thats still true but its not "useless"

My issue is not the "If class can use it" my issue is "whole set of royal garb needs to go puff if I ever choose to glamour something else" 200 slots is not enough for glamour for each class even, so they'd need to be switched in and out when changing styles. I wouldn't mind them staying as glamour items even when taken out, or, that we could put inventory items to plates, even if it costs prism every time the plate is saved. But having to destroy the old stuff every time changing style is no go.

It's useless for an entirely different reason than what you say. You can't glamour different healers in different sets. Not really at current at least.

Maybe it's just me, but I was under the impression that glamour plates would override whatever appearance you otherwise had equipped, and could be dispelled and swapped around at-will. What they actually do is overwrite whatever glamour you may have on the gear you currently have equipped when you apply the plate. Now after my initial panicked outrage I realized this wasn't so bad. Gear Set List constantly flashing Warning triangles aside, I could still easily swap glamours on a whim, as the plates now totally alleviate the need for both carrying around gear and prisms... except that currently there's a limit of 10 plates.

I thought this number was low when I'd assumed glamour plates would work as a companion to the pre-existing glamour system. Now that I know it's just a replacement for prisms it is MASSIVELY too low. I seriously hope that they upgrade the number of plates available to us soon, because as it is now the new system is, as you say, rather useless.

I was hoping we'd be able to use the Glamour Dresser to save different outfits. Take crafters, for example. If you're using the Ala Mhigan gear - I was hoping you'd then be able to use the Glamour Dresser to save an outfit specific to your WVR, that would look completely different to your CUL. All while they wore the Ala Mhigan set. But apparently when you apply the Glamour Plate to the Ala Mhigan gear it keeps the Plate's appearance across all other presets you have for all of your crafters. Saving different Plates and applying them according to your WVR, CUL, etc. doesn't actually work. It'll only reflect the last Plate applied.

Unless you go through the trouble of manually switching to WVR, applying your WVR-specific Glamour Plate, then when you want to use your CUL - you'd switch to CUL and manually apply your CUL-specific Glamour Plate. Unless I'm missing something with this new system, this makes the Glamour Dresser almost completely useless in most cases.

Hmm, so I basically would need to keep one empty Plate around to nullify the glamours applied. And one plate for each job at least. As for applying them, debending how you change gearsets, you can change the gearsets without hassle or not. I have hotbar buttons for all classes and those could easily be replaced with macro that uses /gearset commant, and that command takes now 2 value, one for gearset and one for plate. So for example '/gearset 2 3' would change to gearset 2 with plate 3 on it. Can of course use that command even manually from chatline, if you remember the numbers.. But we already have over 10 different crafters and gatherers.. not to mention other jobs

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

I agree 100%. I thought they said we could finally have classes that share the same gear look different. I thought that was one of the main points of the glamour dress or vs the old way. I customized my DRK to finally look like a DRK in my 340 gear. But then I switch to PLD and my gear is ruined. Lost all my dark blue dye and everything. Had to spend about 27,000 Gil to make it right again. I was so ready to finally customize my crafters and gatherers. All this did was save me some space until they finally figure out how to get this right. Soooo disappointed!

Yes, you can. I have all 3 of my healers in different sets. The only drawback is that I don't get the appearances if I switch outside of a resting area. A minor annoyance, hopefully one that gets changed, but I can deal with it. My AST and WHM are in their respective AF sets and SCH is in my Gridanian coat. The bigger problem is that we only have 10 plates (a limit I'm sure they'll increase) so for now you just have to decide what's most important for you to have its own distinctive look.

Macro them so the switch is easier. The macro is like this:

    /micon 1 gearset
    /change gearset 1 1

    Breakdown of that:

The number in the first line, and the first number in the second line, are the numbers of the sets you want to wear (they should be the same). The second number on the second line is the number of the glamour plate you want to use.

As an example, my weaver is gearset 12, and uses glamour plate 5. So my macro to switch to weaver looks like this:

    /micon 12 gearset
    /gearset change 12 5

It works flawlessly. I currently have all my crafters in one gear set except ALC, which is in a set I've been sitting on for three (!!) years.
