It's terrible.
Turns a 15 minutes duty finder into an hour.
We had 5 people leave the party.
I will not queue for this duty anymore as long as it exists.

Update - 40 minutes in - After 6 people left and we waited for new people, I decided to leave.
I now have a 30 min penalty to joining the Duty Finder.
Mind you, this entire run used to take 15 minutes max.

If you have a 30 minute penalty, that would mean you had a full party.
There's no penalty for leaving while looking for members.

Well - however it works, three things are fact...
1) We were missing one party member when I left.
2) Six people had already left (first two left at the same time, then a third - once it refilled, another left, then the other tank left, and when the 6th person left, i left).
3) I got a 30 min penalty.

The guy that was 'missing' when I left did have ?? on his name - and it wasn't actively searching for a person - maybe a disconnected person doesn't count.
In either event - the solution is simple - don't queue for MSQ unless you need it.
As a person that has tanked it every day since the day I started playing, I can't help but point out my dislike for the change.

There are million other things you can do if you don't like it but no other way to see the story. And it's not like the new rewards aren't exceptionally generous. 4x the xp and tokens for something that takes 3x as long.

exp hasn't been confirmed to be much greater yet. I had a castrum run and while the exp was a bit greater, it was nowhere near 2x or 3x what it was before, even though my run was 2x as long. (didn't get Praet yet)

Back on topic, maybe the 30min penalty is bugged, or maybe they made it so leaving praet regardless of party size might do it? Who knows. Will have to wait for others to have similar issues to find out.

What was in it for them before the patch? Even before it was being run either for people leveling or people who wanted poetics so the patch hardly changes them.

I dislike this change, but let's not bring irrelevant scenarios into it.

I ran it because it was fairly quick and got me a handful of gil. Hardly irrelevant.

Then there's literally no reason for you do run it anyway. Whether it takes 15 minutes or an hour, it's pointless for you. Only thing I can say is find something to spend poetics on and create room for the 200 plus any bonus. With this question of your's you're complaining about nothing.
