    i330 Augmented Yellow Scripts vs i320 Crafted penta melded

    Hello all,

    First off thank you for taking the time to actually read this.

    I am trying to figure out which path to take for my gathering gear. I have yet to sit down and try and figure out if the i320 penta melded gear will end up being better than the i330 Augmented Yellow scripts gear. This is just for Gathering, I believe I read somewhere that you still want the crafted gear, then penta melded for more control / quality.

    So I am just asking, does anyone know if the i320 penta melded gathering gear is a waste or overkill compared to the i330 Yellow scripts augmented?

    Honestly, this depends entirely upon your goals.

    Pentamelded HQ crafted gear is the ONLY way to get enough Perception to gather the latest stuff HQ, but if that is not a concern, then you could be able to get by without the augmented, just the basic YGS set.

    That said, I prefer the crafted set, simply because of the benefit it offers to Impulsive Appraisal 2. Going from 1313P to 1353P saw the proc rate on IA2 go up a little bit. You won’t get that with the scrip gear until a new set gets released.

    The weapon, hat, and shoes don't give gp so if you wear more than one I don't think you can do the 780 gp rotations, and you can't do it with nq gameni if you wear any of them. The legs are the best value cause the crafted legs can't be melded hard anyway. With full yellow script gear you can gather hq using hq kasha but you would have to overmeld 3 perception V's and a VI into the off hand. If you plan on getting hq with the yellow script gear it's much better to at least get the crafted hat or weapon so you can meld perception hard on them, use a better gp food, and not have to worry about overmelding the 285 off hand. 780 gp rotation with nq gameni is really nice to have so I would only use the yellow script legs, gloves, and chest if I was gonna go that route.

    780 GP rotation? What’s that? I’ve been using 650 GP for Collectibles but don’t know of any rotations higher than that, or for gathering non-collectible.

    With 780/785 (or 680/685) you can add another bountiful yield II at the end of most rotations for non collectibles. In a lot of situations the extra 2 or 3 mats are 100% hq.

    Ok .. what am I not seeing here? KY2+BY2+BY2=700 GP. BY2+BY2+BY2+...+BY2=x00 GP (x = number of BY2’s used).

    So what am I not getting?

    You restore 6gp on hit, so with 785 gp, you'll be back up to 100 after the third hit enabling an additional BY2.
