Thank you for the update Kivan,

Make sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date, disable any overlays that may be present and close all other programs while playing the game. See if the issue persists.

You can try reinstalling like the above poster mentioned, however, this can have mixed results and is not an ideal method.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

After another re-install of the game, I finally got it running only to crash when trying to log in Gridania - happens on several characters.

I think i have found an issue, i need more time testing but, Discord might be one of the reasons regarding DirectX11 Crashes.

2 Days ago i stopped using Discord client, using Browser version only and didn't have crashes. Today i'm using the Client again and logout to switch to an alt and i got the Crash again, however this time it was related to a nVIDIA driver file followed by the DiretcX11 error codes in same window.

For the record i have Discord overlay disabled and Hardware acceleration Disabled, i was using the new Spotify feature today with showing running game disabled, however this Spotify feature is new so that's not the reason.

Again i need more time to be sure, but i'm very confident that everytime i had these crashes i had Discord running.

    Using nVIDIA Driver 390.

    Hello Kivan,
Have you ensured your graphic cards are up to date? Also have you tried disabling all overlays or background programs? Hope to be of assistance.

Happening here as well with Dx9. 390.65. Win 10x64. Two crashes within an hour - once loading into the raid duty finder (mhach) and once after getting back out and running through Limsa to the mender.

I'm going to try turning off Discord and see if that helps. It does seem like loading into certain types of content is some kind of a trigger here. I did three dungeons with my squadron with no trouble. Hopped into the duty finder and two crashes.

Got to say that the standard 'have you updated your drivers' is a little stale. These are real programmatic problems that are squeaking through testing and we shouldn't need to install bleeding edge drivers (that ofttimes have issues of their own to be worked out) before the devs will even look to see if a problem came down with a patch. It's not like development is done hand in hand with nVdia and AMD to take advantage of the absolute latest small fix with each incremental update. This game needs to run on the greater majority of patch levels without runtime crashes.

Bump since there seems to be no fix coming.

    Kivan,

I would suggest re-installing the game. Some players have found this to resolve issues similar to yours.

    Hope to be of assistance.
