How often do you change your main hand which defines your class? It can't be a problem that it gets glamoured over with other plates since you weapon HAS to change with your class.
It's a safety net for people who would glamour their current step of relic/anima and then realize " oh wait.. I really needed that".
I see it's lack of dresser eligibility as a smart idea really.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

I change my main job's main hand glamour about once a week, which makes this not a huge inconvenience but still an unnecessary one. It's not really a problem with the dresser but rather the replica system. I don't see why people aren't allowed buy replicas for each step as soon as the step is completed for both ARR and HW relics. How often do you change your main hand which defines your class? I did that as well on accident. Lost materia VI melded tank piece and didn't notice until after I saw it in the glamour dresser and realized I clicked the wrong thing. Like... why is hiding gear set items not a thing when it is for grand company turn ins? Not even a "this item is melded, are you sure you want to?" prompt like the grand company turn ins either. It was my mistake obviously, but I was disappointed it didn't have the same safeguards in place that grand company turn ins do.I'm a little disappointed with the limitations, I can't put my relics or animas in either the dresser or armoire and I was really hoping to clear my retainers. I also dislike that it shows gear currently assigned to various jobs; I lost my caster neck piece last night because of this. Thankfully I can get a bolt from sigmascape normal to replace it. My fc leader accidentally lost his allagan weapon. Very annoying not to have that feature when gc npc's already do.

they really aren't that bad. They are a way to make commonly used glamours that are easy to reapply. The destroying the item is bad for a few things, but a non issue for others, since most can be bought back via calamity salvager. It frees up some decent inventory. It could be better, but it's not useless or wasted.
I would be more acceptable of glamour plates if we were able to edit them outside of the inn, even if we were limited to the same locations that allow plates to be applied.
I would so like the option to glamour inventory items directly onto a glamour plate, even at the cost of a glamour prism each time. I'm fine with the dresser being the "final resting place" for glamour gear. However, there are some gear that I am not ready to commit to the dresser, but would like to apply to a plate regardless.
At this point I'm just going to assume that they released this system unfinished, in the hopes that, as Yoshi-P was translated to say, "players may not notice because it is not battle related."
"Fun comes first. If it isn't fun, you're doing it wrong." -Naoki Yoshida

The glamour plates, I would assume, are intended for folks who have pretty much settled on their looks/don't change very often. I have had the same glamours since like 3.3, and it was annoying to say the least to reglam everything piece by piece every time they dropped a new tier ofhideousgear. Now I just shove my look into the glamour toilet (thank you poster who called it that) and just apply the plate every time I swap out a piece of gear. It's marvelous. For those who change their glamour every 8 minutes, this probably isn't a good system for you, but the old glam system still exists and mercifully has been reduced to only one catch-all prism.
