I didn't even touch it... placed gear to armoire and chocobo saddleback to make some space. This system is ridiculous and I will only use it when they hire a genius to fix it. No idea what kind of idiot designed this.

how is unlimited glamour ridiculous? ridiculously cheap, more like.

I haven't had time to try the new system because I've been focusing on the other content. I only placed like 3 pieces of gear I was sure I wasn't going to equip anymore. After reading how it actually works, I have a question if anyone could answer it:
So say my plate has all but body piece assigned to whatever gear I choose. The reason for this would be because I want to use a mogstation body piece that I do not want to place in the glamour dresser for obvious reasons, to glamour my genji body. I want to use this mogstation body piece with the old glamour system so I can just store it later. If I equip the plate with the body slot not assigned to anything, does that mean it WILL replace the body glamour I currently have and I will see the actual equipped genji body gear(as in completely overwrite the glamour it already has) or I'll get to see my mogstation body?
Thanks in advance.

If you have a plate gear slot empty, it means it won't do anything in there. Any glamour you do have (regardless of whether it was applied via another plate or via Cast Glamour) will remain there. So say my plate has all but body piece assigned to whatever gear I choose.

Yes, because the application of glamour itself isn't a separate system.
The dresser is a new system to store.
The plate itself is a new system to organize multiple glamours.
Using the plate to apply glamour however is not a new system. It's just the existing system being applied in bulk without having to keep using prisms. So if you have 3 glamours on a plate, it's no different than if you were in the old system manually applying those 3 glamours yourself.
Glamour in itself hasn't changed (hence why the job/class restrictions still apply, and why it overrides existing glamour that's in the same slot, no different than if you were to re-glamour an already-glamoured item the old way). It's really just a different way of clicking "Cast Glamour".
And because it's the same glamour system, that's why glamour dispellers are used to remove glamour regardless of how it was applied.

That's actually pretty interesting to know. I guess it was a faster way for them to implement a (temporal I hope) solution to the inventory issue. Hopefully they refine it over time as it's a bit convoluted and confusing the way it is right now. But this clears all my doubts now. I was too afraid of going in blind and messing my glamours somehow. So I had to make sure how it works first.Yes, because the application of glamour itself isn't a separate system.

We have designed this system to encourage you to buy more retainers :/

Because people who don't understand how it works will just give up on it and try to get more room by getting more retainers.
Sadly SE's ambiguous messaging caused this. By speaking of this as a new system that would work with the "old glamour system", it gave a lot of people the impression that it would be something more than what it is now. They should have made it clearer that this is just a shortcut way to essentially do multiple "cast glamours" in one go and not a whole new glamour system on top of the old one that is "equipped".
People who do realize that, and who can tolerate that for right now this can only be done in a city, can save a lot of space
