Verity to Creation 1:4 ratio is nonsense

This is how it has been done since the beginning, OP. Verity was an old currency that was being phased out for newer ones (i.e., Creation was becoming the new “Verity” as the uncapped 2,000-limit tomestone; Mendacity is the new 450/week capped tomestone). Again, this is how it has always been done for even number patches—come 4.4 there will be a new tomestone, and Creation will be available for a 4 : 1 exchange rate for Mendacity tomestones.

These changes were mentioned, not only in the patch notes, but also in the Live Letter, translations of which are posted both on here, on the ffxiv subreddit, and in various Discords. No, the 4 : 1 conversion rate was not explicitedly stated, and maybe the developers should include that footnote in Patch Notes from now on, but there is no need to get this upset about it. It’s an in-game currency, and the time you spent gathering the Verity, you will spend about the same about of time gathering Creation now—which offers you better gear for the same amount of effort (which is honestly very little).

The 330 Creation gear is better than the 310 Verity gear. You should have next to no problem managing to get enough to bump your item level up relatively quickly in order to run newer content. Ala Mhigo, Temple of the Fist, and Kugane Castle all three have a low item level requirement (i280), and you can easily get into them wearing the i290 Antiquated Gear. Run those a couple times to get Creation, and then spend it on the better 330 gear. Save up Mendacity and buy yourself a 360 piece of gear once every week/two weeks (depending on what you get—body and pants take 2 weeks worth of Mendacity tomes).

If you really want the Verity gear, you should be able to purchase them at the Centurio Seal vendors in Foundation. You will need to do Hunts in order to get the Centurio Seals though (Heavensward and Stormblood hunts both drop Centurio Seals).

The following additions and adjustments have been made to Allagan tomestones:

Allagan tomestones of mendacity have been added.

Players can only obtain 450 Allagan tomestones of mendacity, and carry a maximum of 2,000 tomestones.

Moreover, players can only receive Allagan tomestones of mendacity after reaching level 70 with at least one class or job.
* Speak with Enna in Rhalgr's Reach (X:13.8 Y:11.6) to exchange Allagan tomestones of mendacity for gear.
* Speak with E'bolaff in Rhalgr's Reach (X:13.6 Y:12.2) to enhance gear received in exchange for Allagan tomestones of mendacity.

The weekly limitation on Allagan tomestones of creation has been removed.
* The maximum store of 2,000 tomestones has not been changed.
Allagan tomestones of verity are no longer obtainable.
Please note that any Allagan tomestones of verity obtained prior to patch 4.2 will not be lost. All trials and duties where Allagan tomestones of verity could be obtained will now offer Allagan tomestones of creation instead.

The NPC Auriana in Mor Dhona (X:22.7 Y:6.7) will now give players the option to exchange Allagan tomestones of verity for Allagan tomestones of creation.

Allagan tomestones of lore and Allagan tomestones of scripture have been removed from the game.

I do wonder why they didn't change the price of the old gear. the 4:1 Ratio was alawys with the fact that all price on that gear was now 50% of the original.

I do wonder why they chose to keep the prices as they are, maybe they feel tomestones have become a lot easier to come by so they chose to not reduce prices anymore.

The creation prices were halved and it even was in the patch notes turns out I remembered that wrong, what was listed was the price reduced for crafter/gather gear. I'll look the proper quite when I get home. All said, regarding the current matter. The patchnotes say that verify can't be used to purchase items anymore. The one thing that don't spell out is that tome gear is "tied" to the tome type they were originally purchased with. If verity can't be used to buy gear, it implies that Verity gear can't be bought with any tome currency.

That said, you are left with the verity like money from a trip to a country you're not going to visit anymore. That you get anything from it is a bonus, and a good bump towards getting the next tier gear, apart from the amount of that does tomes you already have. Which gets price deduction too so you actually only loose about half of the verity amount you had in buying power.

The patchnotes (which we got just before the patch with little time to act on) actually do not say that. Not all information comes in patchnotes though.

The separate warning/information posted back in December (which gave us plenty of time to act on) did however say just that.

Secondly. To get 300 gear run ala mhigo or kugane. The 300 gear on top of any 320 omega gear, or 330 gear earned will put you into Skalla at the bare minimum that has 315 gear. Which is enough to put you into Royal City that drops 330 gear and has the restriction removed. It is possible to gear without verity.

I've played since 2.3. Old tome ratio is always 4:1. Somehow I've managed each time to keep gearing. Just keep working at it and youll be just fine! Those roulettes will net you good tomes if you do them.
