Well, I took my time getting to all this one had to offer due to 12 hour shifts and... other things. So, here we go. Owing to the very political nature of the patch and my general dislike of politicking for politicking's sake, I'm going to be short about it.
MSQ
I made sure to remember that Asahi was the one who suggested Yotsuyu be married off to an abusive drunkard for money when dealing with him, but despite that he almost got me to trust him... until the perfectly timed attack from the Red Kojin gave away his real agenda even before he dropped his mask at the very end. Needless to say I wasn't surprised by his duplicity, though I was surprised at his "I'm Zenos' No. 1 fan and you killed him, you bastard!" shtick. First off, no I didn't, second off, did you know the first thing about his character?! Ugh... seriously, my response wouldn't have been the anger the Warrior of Light shows but an exasperated "Seriously?! Even dead that guy's a pain in my ass..."
Now we know he's setting a trap of some sort; all that can really be done is to spring it. I just can't figure out why he's so focused on getting Yotsuyu back; she probably despises him more than the average Doman, given he is responsible for no small amount of her suffering.
So Zenos is back! Clone, or possessed? I'm going with the former, since Varis was apparently watching our final showdown and Elidibus showed up right after. Perhaps it's a possessed clone, but Zenos seemed pretty content with the way he went out. Or perhaps something we don't know yet.
I'm very amused at how upset Garlemald's fans are at its portrayal during 4.2. Perhaps the Garlemald you believe in doesn't exist?
Four Lords
It seems pretty simple. We have to beat the "chaotic energy" in the Four Lords so they're at peace and can help us re-seal or perhaps defeat Koryu when he awakens.
Given the series' root in Eastern mythology and as homage to XI, I do not expect it to have far-reaching, world-wide revelations to the setting.
Omega Sigmascape
So Midgardsormr is kind of a spirit who answers Hydaelyn's call? I figured out the latter, but the former I couldn't have guessed given he does have a corporeal body. He continues to mock Omega as a soulless machine, which it is, and is exactly why it can't understand our ability to overcome projected performances based on data. I pointed this out back during Deltascape.
Nero continues to be endearing, though I was irked by his comment to Cid about how we were all just variables in an experiment of his. The choice we had in response to his utterance of Kefka's line is... a bit telling, though.
Disappointed but not surprised Kefka's God form is a Savage exclusive thing since I'm not a hardcore raider who'll get to see it. At least it's still a fun and engaging fight.
