Dear SE,
In case you haven't figured it out, most of us are thoroughly unsatisfied with the changes to BLM. Returning the potency of Fire IV was pretty basic, but thank you for the un-nerf, I suppose. TRULY thank you, though, for the Aetherial Manipulation change. The 10 second recast will be lovely, but I don't think you realize that without any more reliable system for obtaining procs, using AM results in clipping the GCD, which is a huge no-no by playerbase standards. This is also a pretty big issue with Between the Lines.
I made several threads-worth of fancy suggestions hoping that you may consider giving BLM the "overhaul" that WAR instead got (which, mind you, literally not a single WAR in the game asked for), but you know what? It's ok. I think you'll like this one because it's nice and simple:
Just give Fire IV access to the Firestarter Trait. That's it.
This will mean a pretty fair chance at no longer needing to cast Fire I every Astral Fire rotation (I don't understand why you think it's appropriate to be using the level 2 spell at level 70 still in the MAIN ROTATION). Further, this will mean the ability to weave off-GCDs like Aetherial Manipulation and Swiftcast and Addle without needing to clip.
If you REALLY want to go above and beyond, give us that "stackable Firestarter/Thundercloud" adjustment that we've been begging for since 2.x as well. That would really go a long way. But really just let Fire IV proc Firestarter. You can do it, I believe in you.
Sincerely,
Angry BLMs who still have to clip casts.
PS: Note that I didn't bother thanking you for the Transpose "buff" because it's basically useless, so If you're in a reading kind of mood, it'd be lovely if you could finally do something to Freeze such as the suggestion you can find in this thread to actually make BLM AOE damage meaningful again for the first time since 2.x: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Lv.-35-Freeze
In case it wasn't hammered home, your nerf to SMN AOE damage today still will not be outweighed by BLM AOE damage, and by your logic BLM is "raw damage no utility", so this is very poor design.
