Expansion is okay. I feel like with how other things are being handled its hurting this expansion in general for me anyway.
I disagree with how balance changes have been handled so far. Alot of other little things like crafting abilities and gathering abilities need major adjustments, Msq roulette basically being killed off, cross role system being extremely unpleasent for Healers. Over emphasis on cash shop items have started to leave a bad taste in players mouth and they automatically start blaming the expansion when in fact the frustration should be directed solely at Square and not the expansion itself.

I think a lot of people forgot just what caused DRK to get Nolan Ryan'd back to the dugout to begin with. There was mass complaints about tank DPS, which lead to the tank dps overhaul and DRK being redesigned.. had people shut their mouth about tank dps, none of these "balance" changes would have ever happened.
I'm not sure why MCH is considered unforgiving now with the shorter wildfire. Trying to get decent damage with the larger wildfire was a lot harder, and you still had to cram a ton of stuff into it. MCH was the least played job in HW.
I think the job changes were needed, because a lot of jobs really were a pain to play well. I don't see people here complaining about how much they missed having to constantly refresh multiple DoTs with every single job, or how much of your DPS was due to that. I don't really miss how many buffs most classes needed to use in their burst and how much latency could hurt then because you could have so many you had to double weave. I think they had to do it if just because the rotation holds back how hard they can make encounters. Now that the skill floor is raised, they can make difficulty stem more from encounter actions and less from players screwing up their rotations.
I also have been here since the beta before we could jump (v 1.0) , and i miss the old PVP and my old WHM/Conjurer.
Just my preference .
I hate what they done to Yda and Lyse can join that useless Alphinaud Leveilleur for all i care .....
So , the expansions main story left me cold and i was not interesed at all in what happens .
This is my own preference and opinion of Stormblood .
There are definitely some letdowns (swimming being all but useless, 4.0 splitting focus in msq, various class "balances") but I wouldn't call it a mistake...
I wanna know how you thought you could blame ASTs RNG on SB. The class has been like that since its release in HW.
Anyways. I have been playing since ARR. Each part of XIV has been a good experience.
SB was a bit rough for me at the start in regards to DRG but they have shown they are making efforts to balance that at least.
Generating aggro isn't hard now.. it's just most tanks sit their butts in DPs stances instead of doing their job.
Been playing since 2010.. I still enjoying the Stormblood.
Jobs still need adjustment, yes but I everything else so far are great.
Ah, except the bottom of Salt lake in Lochs and diving down to Shisui, I hate that... hope we don't have to dive there to get into Hell's Lid :P

I dont think Stormblood was a mistake but i think some of the changes made gameplay worse. The old cross class skills and the dot's we used to have made gameplay in general more fun.
I dont understand why Bloodbath was taken off Warrior and only allowed for dps.Warrior had good use of the skill where as dps doesnt have much use for the skill.Mercy stroke i loved having on Monk, dragoon,Paladin,Warrior.I thought they went really well with the jobs.
The story in Stormblood isnt very good compared to heavenward and for an expansion that was about monk class Monks got the short end of the stick.
To me the last best patch the game had was when they released ozma and Nidhog ex.
That being said i still enjoy Stormblood and the content. They also need to stop being lazy and recycling glamors and releasing it as new content.A lot of Stormblood gear is reskins.
The expansion is fine and you need to take a break it sounds like. Hell I need to take a break probably since to me the game's biggest flaw is how bland it is and how tedious things become a couple weeks after each patch. The changes to combat were great for the most part (except making mnk so clunky) and I do enjoy the meters but it's been obvious for a while the devs have their own definition of balance. I just wish they'd change up progression. I don't feel that drive anymore to gear up when it won't matter next patch but that's been a problem since day one.
