I saw it in your eyes, even as I heard the words from your mouth. You love her. No matter what my feelings have been they hold not even a candle to the fire I have seen swirling in the depths of your eyes when you gaze upon her.
It matters not that I have been able to pull you back from the brink, time and time again, she will keep you from it. I know now that I was never able to help you control it. It matters not that we have spent years together, it only took one moment for you to know that she is the one you want to spent your remaining years with.
While my heart breaks knowing that you and I will never be. Those strong arms will never wrap around me in a sweet embrace, our lips never to meet in a soul stealing kiss. I take solace in knowing that our battle is not over, I take comfort in your friendship. And I am truly glad that you will finally be happy and whole.
