When I first saw you, I was put off. You were a boy with every advantage to your name and so very confidently you strode out into Eorzea, convinced of your righteousness by virtue of your last name. But yet, when I was in despair over the loss at the Waking Sands, who strode forth with purpose in hand, purpose I craved when I was lost? Twas you. Even if you still proved your shortsightedness when still being clothed in your light garb in the snows of Ishgard but then again, I myself wore a short robe and tights so fair is fair.

Twas our foray in the Coils however, that I saw your determination. I vowed to defend you and your sister through whatever strength I could muster. But soon after, your weakness, your shortsightedness, became your downfall with the Crystal Braves. And thus I saw you sink to the same depression I myself once sunk down into. Graciously, Haurchefant found the words that I struggled to find, as I too, was in need of a spot of sunlight. But I always felt that I should always do something more for you…

Through our journeys through Ishgard and beyond, I have borne witness to a change in you. In particular, I will always find the trip to parley with Hraesvelgar to have been one of my joyous times, despite it’s somewhat bitter conclusion. It is there I saw you learn, from Estinien and Ysayle (and I guess myself) on striving to better yourself after every mistake. I hugged you close when you were distraught over the loss of Minfilia and shared in your triumph as we saved Estinien. I have seen you grown into a capable fighter and a companion I could not replace.

And to put recent events in light, I have seen your shortsightedness strike again with your good-intentioned purchasing decisions. But alas, I am assured that with every slip up, you will take it as an opportunity to learn, just as I saw you swim to fight the Empire once more. Know that I am very proud of the young man you have become and consider you an irreplaceable ally and friend. Wherever our journey takes us next, we shall face the dawn together.

I remember our days in the sun, our days away from the sorrows that now plague our hearts. How painful it was to watch as you fell into the void, a darkness undying, and there was little I could do to save you.
We had met as conjurers in training, and I still recall the pure bliss we had felt being by each others sides and growing into something wonderful. Even when we had to go our separate ways, we swore to always be friends, and with that came a heavy responsibility in my heart. I knew I would never let harm come to you, or to your beloved Avere: even if I grew jealous as time separated us and brought you closer to him. I have failed you.
Edda, darling. Please, I want you to know a few things, if you can still hear my prayers from down here. You were not the reason poor Avere perished, and I want you to know that you were never truly alone in this world. If only I could have been there for you, you would be alive today.
As I saw you reappear in the depths of the palace, and saw you smile at me as you faded away into nothingness, I could only collapse to the ground and sob.
I may have lost my childhood friend, but I would like for you to remember while you sleep in Hydaelyn’s loving embrace: you will never be forgotten. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
May you walk happily alongside Avere in my dreams. One day we will be together again. When my eyelids grow heavy and my heart grows weak, I hope you will welcome me with open arms.

I cannot begin to form proper words to express how I feel. As often as I tease and jest to many others in my life, it has only ever been you that has left me with a tied-tongue. Perhaps what had started as an infatuation, as simple attraction, has slowly turned into something more for me. As for you, I could not tell what you might feel in return, but I accepted the gestures and fondness you showed to me.

Kindness in a world full of cruelty, warmth when the world became quite dim and cold. You opened your arms to me, praised me and my deeds, and, above all else, you believed me more than I ever really believed in myself.

Often, I think about if you had met me before I took up to adventuring and ponder if you would still consider me “hope incarnate”.

Despite these self-doubting thoughts, I am more than what was once a young auri women with a broken and bleeding heart. It was through harsh life lessons but I grew to love the strength I held within myself and I thank Halone that was the woman you met.

I hope you are well. I'm sorry for Please try not to mind the ink smudges all over the parchment. I should probably start on a new piece I fear I am not very good at writing. As you can see I have already made a mess of this by jotting down every little thing that comes into my head. I do not think I sound very much like myself with these stiff words, but I have heard that formality is important in written correspondandence.

I am in Kugane's Bokairo Inn at present presently. I think you would love this city. It reminds me of Ul'dah- there are so many colourful places and people that my head spins sometimes. Being here alone makes me remember my first moons in Eorzea with you with you. I have never told you how lost I would have been without your friendship and guidance. I still feel a little lost without you by my side some days. If you ever feel If you're ever Curse this bloody

Fighting side by side with you again after so long made my heart soar was a great comfort. I wish there had been more time to I miss you Vesper Bay and Revenant's Toll may no longer be the homes they once were, and maybe the Scions as they are now have no need for one. But lately I find myself longing for the days we spent among friends together in these places, and wishing for somewhere I could walk in the door and have a chance to see your face.

We just had a splendid dinner together but my face is still flush writing this to you, my beautiful comrade. Even though I am just a Lalafell, I feel we share a connection that will perhaps transcends race as well as space and time. When I see that glimmer in your eyes, the spring in your step, the little wink you do when you say my name... I can't help but feel entranced by you. I know you may do this to everyone but to me, you are my one and only. I don't know if you will read this or if you will even take me seriously since I am just a Lalafell you met on your grand adventure of life but I just wanted to let you know in this letter and put it out there that I love you so very much. I want us to spend the rest of our days touring the continents, seeing new things, tasting new cuisine... making the most of our time together. You are a busy person, I know this, but I hope you can find the time to give me all of you as I wish to give you all of me.
