I mained WAR from when I started in 2.55 and through the entirety of HW. It's still my go-to when I feel like shaking things up and don't want to play DRG, even though my WAR gets no love gear-wise beyond crafted going forward.

These changes can bite me. It's not hard to do well as WAR right now; it will be borderline braindead to play post-4.2 and the same people will still mess up. Raising the skill floor and lowering the skill ceiling only works to a certain point, beyond which it's outright detrimental to the enjoyment of a class/game. We're well beyond that point now.

Also, I can't say that I understand their insistence on constantly messing with WAR's self-healing (Steel Cyclone here, after intentionally buffing it up last year) when - from my perspective - bathing in the blood of their enemy and getting off on it healing themselves through an adrenaline high seems to be the very "identity" of FFXIV WAR.
