I was reading about SpatialOS

https://www.pcgamesn.com/worlds-adri...os-multiplayer

I want to see if I'm understanding this correctly. The intent is to get rid of the perception of separate worlds and possibly allow, in FFXIV's case the ability for more than one (or all) of the data centers to play together, unlike the cross server functionality we currently have? And also allow the use of more complex physics and algorithms that are normally found in non MMO games?

If that is true, then I wonder what that could mean for FFXIV? I would think better queue times for everyone if it could now pull from everywhere, no more need for people to transfer servers to play with friends in the overworld, and possible hair/clothing physics or physics based puzzles maybe. I don't realistically think that Square-Enix is going to do this, but if I'm comprehending the article correctly it would suggest that it could remove many of the barriers that the game currently has, especially those tied to servers.
