Thread: Patch 4.2 Extra Retainer should be free

A third free retainer would be nice for ventures and sale slots, but I don't really need the storage if I manage my items well. To be honest, with the addition of dresser and saddlebag and 999 item stacks, I could have my number of retainers reduced to zero and I'd be ok. Any glamors that can't go in the armoire will go in the dresser. Non-glam gear goes in armory chest. Other items in inventory and saddlebag. Glam prisms just got reduced down to a single type. Carbonised matter was already killed off. Furnishings were given a storeroom. They've been making some nice progress on item management systems.

The Dresser destroys all items you place it in. We still don't know if these Mirage Plates allow you to mix and match with the current prism system. If it doesn't, you'll be forced to put whole outfits into it. Which means whatever goes in there won't be able to pair up with a cash shop glamour you didn't want to permanently discard.

We get a glamour dresser, chocobo saddlebags, and an extra retainer.

Stop whining, and go clean out your inventory. You have tools. If that still isn’t enough, then you can complain.

We got lots of races stop crying about adding Viera. °_° We got lots of glamour, stop crying for a bunny set for men and more..I mean you can use that argument literally everywhere. (And no I am not saying that one should stop complaining..I am just using some examples that can be seen the exact same way)

Its a fact that we get more and more items, even more items that are timed, part of an content with RNG (canals), FC ventures and more. At the same time they use old items for crafting too. Then on top of all those crafts we get countless of bait for the fisher who is the only gathering job that needs their own inventory space to just use their job..so the saddlebags are kinda like the needed tackle box for us fishers. And next to all of that you have lots and lots of glamour. The new dresser now destroys the items if you want to take them out thus you cant just throw everything in it. On top of that we got way more glamour than that in two expansion..

So new mats, olds mats still being used, lots of baits and a huge amount of glamour..and we got no single new free retainer for two expansions..The extra retainer you are telling us about costs money..why should we be fine to having to pay even more? The glamour dresser has a limit of 200..and it only takes glamour and not even every glamour. The chocobo saddlebags are nice but still only 70 more. I am quite sure that all the new items per patch is already way more than that.

I will not stop complaining when I get the feeling that they only care for our money. "Hey the servers can only handle more retainers if you pay in real money for that! Because somehow that magically make it better."

I'm sorry, but this really isn't good enough. This is the only subscription game I can think of where I've had to hire storage space. I've played FTP games and had more free storage than I could use.

If people having up to seven paid retainers won't over-stress the servers, I cannot see any reason for not giving all of us another retainer for free.

no, one per expansion, so we should be getting a total of 4. They should be giving us more room, if they can't program the game to be more efficient.

Releasing a 9th retainer to pay for without giving more for free is a huge insult to the playerbase

Best to only keep things that can't easily be replaced, and don't keep hoard stacks of all the other stuff that can be gathered easily, bought cheaply or is rarely used.

Not that I'm against giving negative feedback and asking for more. In the case of item storage they've already been addressing it using several different methods, doing the most they can with their resources.

For retainers free vs paid it's going into the business side, I guess they would need to convince corporate that making players happy with more free stuff would gain more subscribers and lead to healthier financials than just charging for that 3rd retainer.

Maybe they can't without data to support the proposal, if most players are either not fully utilising the retainers they have already, or hoarders who are happily paying for many additional ones.
