Thread: Patch 4.2 Extra Retainer should be free

At first I was excited to hear that we would be getting an extra retainer. However, I did note that there was no mention of if that retainer would be free. Now, I find it's what I suspected, we will be able to hire a ninth retainer.

I'm sorry, but this really isn't good enough. This is the only subscription game I can think of where I've had to hire storage space. I've played FTP games and had more free storage than I could use.

If people having up to seven paid retainers won't over-stress the servers, I cannot see any reason for not giving all of us another retainer for free.

Well, to be fair, what exactly are you doing with your retainers. If you use them to hold glamour items, then the 200 slots in the dresser will be more than an extra retainer could hold (175 slots). For other stuff, you get an additional 70 slots attached to your chocobo. I guess if you need to do a lot of venture farming or need a lot of market board sell slots, then you may have a point, but just because it's not a free retainer, doesn't mean we're not getting more free storage.

It's sad free to play games sell permanent unlock of storage space. In this game you have to pay monthly for it and lose the space if you stop paying.

Right? At least make it a one-time buy. :/ I had to buy 2 additional retainers because I was lacking space, playing since the very begining of this game. A free retainer would be a cool move, SE. Unless, of course, your servers can't handle it.
