They've had five years. Time is no excuse. Delete the dungeon if they can't bring it up to standard.

I'd rather new players quit over a hole in the MSQ than get dragged into another one of these dumpsterfire wastes of time in mentor roulette, especially since I could actually be more help literally anywhere else. Prae/Castrum don't need 8 people, and until SE adjusts or deletes the place, I'll keep calling it a failure and refusing to run it.

Furthermore, if someone's five years late to the party I don't care what they miss in the storyline; they should start with a free 60 and look back at the cutscenes for what they were too late to catch. Too many of them get stuck in a treadmill of trying to optimize their road to 60 buff, leveling everything and understanding none of it, and get burnt out before they ever play the actual game.

At this point, a year into Stormblood, you're visited Kugane or you're wasting your time. And *my* time.

I think that is a bit harsh to be content with new players quitting like that. At the end of the day, as long as the newbies get to experience cutscenes when they first get into the 8-man dungeons, everyone respects each other, and everyone gets rewarded with tomes and stuff. Everyone wins one way or another. I believe in the "Everyone wins" mentality of completing stuff when working as a team. In addition, little things and rewards gained goes a long way for me.

If people want to learn how to optimize whatever role they are playing, it's a gradual experience that they must choose for themselves. The Balance Discord is one option to choose among many others.
