Original: So are you glad this change makes it very limiting who is able do it? Are you going to be running it later doing it for the 100th time watching the same cs you seen before?
Revised: Are you happy with the change? Are you worried that the number of "veteran" participants may decline over time? Do you see yourself participating in the MSQ roulette after your initial clear?

Original: Don't you think it is a bit selfish to exclude so many when you can simply get friends and do the run at your own pace? (This friend you speak of is likely able to do these just you and them, but due to the change, you can't even watch the CS at your own pace)
Revised: Just don't even ask this. MSQ roulette was designed to get sprouts through content. It is not the OP's fault that SE changed the roulette in this manner.

Original: Are you aware this change prevents people going at their own pace? meaning I can't go slower then the auto play and read something over at that moment should I be distracted by something in RL?
Revised: How do you feel about the pacing of the CS's and the breaks in fighting?

Original: You really think it is a good change removing a dialog pop up across doing it in roulette, premade undersized, watching it in the inn?
Revised: Do you feel the change to mandatory CSs was a change for the positive, or do you feel that players had enough options already (e.g. Party finder, watching CSs in the inn, etc.)

If you want people to give honest opinions, don't go on the attack.
Thanks Skivvy for the revised questions. Though I did not feel Vstarstruck post particularly aggressive and the questions are legitimate. I finally finished ARR yesterday and can give more inputs. I will however try to answer to your post instead, as the questions are already put in structure.

As I mentioned in my post, It all depends on the queue time over time. If it is getting too long, the change is of course not welcomed as new players would be blocked to even play further. (btw, I find it quite stupid design to have MSQ block your progression but this is another topic and more related to the original design of the game). When I did it, there were only 2 vets with the rest all sprouts and the queue time were instant as I am a tank I guess. I also play on Japanese DC so it might be more populated than NA and the influx of people for the new patch.

I would personally not run the MSQ roulette every day now that it is unlocked as I have 100+ MSQ quest to catch up to get back to my friend already in Ishgard. And I agree, the CSs are indeed time-consuming and I can understand it can discourage many. But I do want some poetics for my gear so I will probably run the roulette once in a while later for leveling especially when I have to cook and eat dinner or house cleaning, calls etc ( job and live alone ) which is a really great thing for me as I can get some xp while doing other things ! But this is very specific to my situation (or is it ? Seems FF14 community is way more mature that other MMOs which is a big like from me ).

Here, I don't really understand well your worry. How is it selfish ? This 2 duties were made for the story not for high level people grinding it. I really don't know why SE should please vets player for doing it under 15 mins... SE should try to appeal to vets only when queue is getting ridiculous. But as other people mentioned, we don't have the stats so it is useless to argue about that. And for now, I heard the reward was quite ok still.

I did not find any problems with the pace of dialog and CSs. I found it even too slow to be honest. For the distraction, it is the same as when I watch a movie in a cinema. I usually try to block some hours for gaming and only leave for urgent stuff. I don't start a duty if I know I will be disturbed.

I personally hate going through another medium to watch back the story. It can become messy and it doesn't feel right as you kinda already did it and lose the first time experience. I was happy with the cutscene directly from while playing the game but what I also hated was that the bosses were down in a matter of seconds without even having time to go through some sort of final forms like in every FF game final bosses. Probably because the 2 vets had 70 lvl gear and the sync gear function is not strong enough ... I mean the vets tank has like 10 K HP and I barely got 5 K with the gear from the job quest which is lvl 50.

Overall, I agree that there are ways to improve the current change of CSs but I find it is in the right direction. At least, it did not happen like my friend when he was doing it. I mean, he sat through the cut scene and missed all the boss fight and the duty was nearly finished when he finally saw all... ( he also just started the game but a little earlier than me so he is a bit further in the story)

I understand that other people have other ways of playing and some newbies want to skip the CSs as well. A vote system would be perfect or something like if everyone clicked yes on skip cutscene, then it skips ( without revealing who did or didnt skip of course).

    my two cents.

I find pretty sad someone is being insulting over someone's personality. I got a news flash for you. Some people play the game to only play the game. There is no warning before buying the game "the game forces a story down your throat and may not be for you" You want to have the biggest sales you try not to exclude a group, and the people that play games to play them is much bigger then people carrying about a story. Even JaakRoot said "btw, I find it quite stupid design to have MSQ block your progression" I find it odd you try act others act rude and insulting when the only person that fits that is you. Again that sig statement of yours fits you well, I am sure you are told kettle black often.

Yeah you did not get what I was asking. There is 2 different ways to approach and clear these 2 dungeons and 3 methods to view the CS. You said you where glad for the change, the change took out a diolog option that is no longer view able in the inn, making a premade party to undersize/unsyc, and the main roulette. The reason I bought the idea of selfish is, from you basically saying you like the change in full. I have issues with this, esp if your friend is lv 60+, or know someone that is 70, you 3 or 2 can make a party and complete it that way. This is called undersize and being a small group you can easily go at your own pace. Given you have this option, why should the public channel be forced to please a select few when this option exists? I was not really asking if you like going though another medium or not, I was asking how you feel with them just making this blanket change across everything, since again you said you completely agree with the change in full.

With this change, even those that want to skip CS, like Anarnee bought up just now, along with posters of the past in this thread, even if they make a premade party to unsync it (non-public group) the game still forces them to watch the CS. To me you still do not understand the undersize function and I believe a first step could make that option more clear to the new player base not this forcing this change on everyone. The reason I say this is because I seen a few runs where a new person and someone that is able to run the new person though it undersize was attempting to hold the group hostage and not click though the dialogue, we had to kick them. (The high level friend was on a healer and was attempting the "I will not heal you guys till we watch the CS)

For the vote thing, please stop pressing for that, it won't work. People will just start drama about trolling or something and/or simply leave if they have to watch CS. The BEST way of dealing with this while maintaining that idea in spirit is making 2 roulettes, with different rewards, one with CS and one without. That is the only way you do not exclude people.

MSQ roulette was designed to move sprouts through content. The MSQ specifically tells players that "such and such dungeon/trial is now available through Duty Finder". You keep implying that the sprouts are the selfish ones for running this through DF when PF is available, but this is how the game is set up.

If 'selfish' reasons are taken out, the only concern that any of us should have about this change is whether or not this will increase the queue times significantly, and therefore not let new players make it through the MSQ easily.

Yes, mandatory CSs need to be disabled in PF so that those who do not want to deal with the story can skip it. I think most everyone is at least in agreement about this part.

might need touch up the post, but not just that but the inn too, and put back that dialogue option, I am shocked more story goes are not bringing the torches on that. I still think it should not be exclude those that want to use it to level up jobs, like having 2 different roulette or something but whatever i guess.

By the dialogue..do you mean the auto-advancement? If so, I'd say that's a necessary evil, otherwise groups could be held hostage. If not what you mean, not sure then as I've always skipped all MSQ :X

There is a dialogue pop up, they can still give you 5 seconds to pick or something, if not it picks something for you. They took it out of the game completely, and do not even get it in the inn, complete BS they make a blanket change like this. So it was clearly not well thought out and made in haste blanketing PF/undersize and the inn.

Ahh, I imagine at most this probably just changes a line or two of dialogue.. I know when I pick the "wrong" choice in quests, they normally spout off real fast about why I'm wrong, then prompts me to try again. These prompts could definitely be used to troll the other players in the Roulette, so I can see why they'd take them out.

With that said, a short timer on any prompts could have been a decent solution. However, for my own needs, I appreciate having to input absolutely nothing while I'm tabbed out waiting for the CS to pass
