LOL what?! That's just plain wrong.
Which is WHY IT'S BAD FOR NEW PLAYERS.
/facepalm....
Yes, that is exactly why it's bad. One of many reasons.
When, not if.
Another person who does not know what the word objective means...
I have seen what happens to MMOs where new players experience long wait times for content. They don't gain more new players than they lose. My point is based on objective, factual observation by the industry. It's not an opinion. It's based on facts.
It is not a fact, it is merely a hypothesis.
For new players who like to watch cutscenes it is a good change. Queue times for the new players may increase, but we do not actually know that they will increase, and we certainly do not know queue times will increase enough to be a problem.
It's not a hypothesis. How many times are we going to play semantics? It is not a fact, it is merely a hypothesis.

Also, it's not a question of whether queue times might increase, they already have. One of the most common things mentioned in Prae and Castrum is how queue times are longer now. This is not supposition or conjecture or hypothesizing. It's already happened and is getting worse.
I love when people act like they have inside information that is only available to SE. Viewing something as a consumer is vastly different than viewing something as the Developer with all facts at their fingertips.
Of course this is not to say that SE makes awesome decisions all the time, because we sure as hell know that's not the case, but it's time to get off your high horse when you're coming into a conversation claiming fact when you have nothing to back it up with.
DPS queues are INCREASING NOW!! the fact you can be number 15 to number 5 in 20 minutes and over all have a higher then 30 minute queue? this already has a huge negative impact, and considering this is across a data center, not just a server shows you how little people are using the MSQ roulette now. The reason tanks and healers are getting such short queues is because the pool is so small there is hardly, if any (esp tanks) queuing for it. Wanna know why tanks are prob not queuing for it? because they get faster exp elsewhere. It is not a fact, it is merely a hypothesis.

ob·jec·tiveThen I wonder what you think objective means. It's not an opinion that this change is bad for new players. And I explained clearly why it is.
You even acknowledge that it's bad for new players a few posts later, thus proving my point that it's bad. It's a fact (since you don't seem to like the word objective) that this is bad for new players.
əbˈjektiv/
adjective
adjective: objective
1.
(of a person or their judgment) not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts
I said it's a bad thing for people doing solo/unsynched runs, where did I say it was bad for new players? The loss of some of the running pool because of speedrunners and xp/tome farmers? Not BAD, just less pool, if the run keeps at a steady pace for the remainder who are doing it it's not bad.
show me the numbers , as in player counts doing the instance, newbies doing the instance , newbies quitting after experiencing the new system who are quitting the system BECAUSE of the change, players doing the instance now vs players 2 months ago etc.etc.It's not a hypothesis. How many times are we going to play semantics?

You don't have them. Anything you post about dying queues, or detriments to new players , or this is worse than so and so situation are you own opinions. Colored by your own feelings on the matter and therefor NOT objective.
Slower runs are NOT a bad thing if the amount of newbies getting through and remaining after the experience stabilizes or increases. But we have no access to this number and cannot make this distinction. Neither side of this has any info other than severely colored anecdotes of your own experience. Time will tell, you do not.
As has been shown by your... impassioned responses, you are far from objective.

WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
A huge negative impact on who? Honestly as a DPS I'm used to those queue times. I just finished Heavensward (playing as summoner) and waited that long to get into the Aetherochemical Facility and Singularity Reactor. I wait that long in the daily leveling roulette.
There's a queue and the queue is moving.
(That said, I've only ever gone into MSQ roulette as a tank or healer, because I know those are more in demand and it will help the queue for everyone. So I can't compare the DPS queue times before and after for this specific issue. But queue times are a normal thing for DPS players, and I doubt they could be that discouraged just by encountering another queue at this point in the game.)
---
On a semi-related note, I'm wondering just how the roulette queue works versus the wait time for a player that has specifically queued for one of those dungeons. (Since you don't get a queue number in that case, just an average wait time.) Do they get priority, and the next seven people-with-suitable-classes in the roulette get put into their party? Or are they still in the same queue as people that signed up for the roulette earlier?
I'm not really sure what else there is to discuss on this one. Unless the queue reaches a point where newbies can't get it done in a reasonable time, there's no reason for SE to make any further changes. It's job is to get newbies through the MSQ. If it does that, it's working as intended.
So if/when we see massive queue times, that'll be a thing. Predicting them has aready been done and is old hat now.

How many people do you think woke up, saw the changes and went, "OH YES NOW I WILL QUEUE FOR MS ROULETTE FOR THE NEWBIES AND I'LL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN"
How hard it's gonna hit the queue in the future? I don't know, but it's going to be longer. There's no a forcing people to watch the cutscenes is going to get more people interested in doing the roulette often enough compared to people pushed off of it that did it before.
