While it would definitely be better if SE actually took the time to redesign these two dungeons, I wonder how many people would be willing to see 4.3 delayed by three months in order for this to happen.

Bean counters make stupid decisions. If you want to see what happens when the bean counter screws up, go look at EA. If you want to see what happens when the bean counter doesn't screw up, go look at Valve. You mean to tell me that the bean counters decided that the more likely to be profitable decision was the one that was likely to drive more players away, meaning they don't continue to pay their $13/mo? It's possible that some people pay for the jump potion, but I would predict that far more people would say "screw it unsubbing" then the ones that buy one, and that would lead to lost profits over a few months just for more in the now, I should think, but that's all I'll say on the matter anymore. I'm not going derail the thread with this.
Rabble rabble SE this is a terrible idea rabble rabble!

I'd keep doing it even with the cutscenes IF the rewards were better. And no a couple extra Poetics isn't cutting it. I'm talking MAJOR xp while leveling up alt classes. Double or triple the XP gain and I'd consider it. Otherwise, i'm with never doing the MSQ roulette again.
Did you ever try getting into the old 24 man raids before they added a roulette for them? Last I tried helping someone, we gave up after 2 hours.
Msq will see a similar fate if they go through with this.
And this is actually gating content, unlike Crystal Tower, you can't just tell the new guys to f... it and do something else.
I'm soo glad I joined XIV way before all of this madness happened; back then, everyone had to watch the cutscenes and fight the bosses with whatever strength they had. It was a struggle, but we conquered both Meridianum and Praetorium.
Now, the current new players may get to enjoy cutscenes, BUT they won't be able to enjoy the thrill of fighting against the bosses because they're already dead within a minute or two thanks to the almighty veterans who were crazy enough to play though the dungeons again. (it kinda kills the excitement from the cutscene that lead to the battle, ya know..)
I get that this solution is a bad idea, but yo, you don't have to deal with the madness by NOT playing the MSQ roulette. What's the point of going back besides helping your fellow friends/FC mates who're new to the realm? Lvling an alt character/job? Okay. More power to ya, but be prepared for a loong run!

This isn't an eff up on SEs part. This is SEs deliberate eff u to speed runners of an instance that for years now, does not get run as intended. These instances, especially Prae, are a nightmare for new players who aren't even allowed to see which direction faces up.
I commend SE for sticking to their guns with this. It doesn't mean I'lol be queueing up for it unless I want the full experience I was denied two years ago.
I really don't do the MSQ roulette. Its always been pretty worthless, since there are more fun ways to get poetics overall. I don't think its just the cutscenes, the rushing and ilvl trivilaizes the encounters too in the same way thordan is trivial; you simply can't raise ilvl that much any more and expect encounters to be fun.
The other stuff...i was raked over the coals for hating how they wasted time on the screenshot utility when it first came out, and if you wonder why i get so irate about stuff, its that they took all the gushing over that and now we have tons of little utilities. Its probably because JP doesn;t have the software we do, so it makes more sense in game, and perform makes cool videos for nico nico douga.
It kind of gets old sometimes playing MMOS from Japanese devs; they don't get that we can't be shamed into doing stuff and we don't have as tight a culture that we will shame each other else into doing acting in the best interests of the group.
Can't you watch the cut scenes in the inn? This isn't an eff up on SEs part. This is SEs deliberate eff u to speed runners of an instance that for years now, does not get run as intended. The speed runners were the only ones willing to actually queue. You commend SE yet aren't willing to help the newbies who will now be waiting potentially hours for queues? I'll admit, I'm interested in running MSQ roulette on the patch day JUST to see what happens after 4 or 5 hours in the queue. The chat would have to be a lot of raging, right? Interested enough that I'd do it? I dunno, but I think it'd be hilarious.
