Within this dynamic - a dynamic that SE has fostered ever since ARR - the length of these dungeons is a significant problem. Speaking personally, I also find the cutscenes very irritating after the third or fourth time.
I'm in the same boat as Baingoleth in that I still enjoy running both Praetorium and CM with all the cutscenes. I've run CM hundreds of times when I was farming darklight gear back at 2.0 launch and still enjoy watching the scenes every time. The more relaxed atmosphere and people joking around is one of the other reasons I enjoy doing MSQ on an almost daily basis now.

I don't find speed running fun and honestly don't understand the mentality behind always having to do it, I'm more than capable of keeping with speed runs, I just don't enjoy it. I play this game to relax and unwind after a long day, I want to take the time to enjoy the game... not rush through everything as fast as possible so I can log off earlier.

Fair points. I haven't found it all that enjoyable personally, but there have been some more memorable runs. Though I will say it's harder to find them these days, because the content is so over-geared; if SE had set the iLevel cap lower, low enough to where people can't completely screw around, I'd actually be more inclined to queue, because the content would be more interesting. But if it's going to be an utter faceroll, I'd personally rather it be a fast faceroll.

As to the speed running, I agree with you there wholeheartedly. But that's what happens when content is easy and highly repetitive: speed becomes the emphasis. This is the approach SE has long fostered, however, for FFXIV (in stark contrast to FFXI, might I add). And it makes issues like these MSQ cutscenes far more problematic than they should be.

I don't blame speed runners because it's the system itself that needs urgent changes. Maybe more horizontal content instead of doing the same dungeons a thousand times ad nauseam? Maybe introduce new ways to get these so-called tomes? Make them drop from monsters and increase exp per kill or make open world a thing again? It still feels like a giant lobby after all these years.

I used to do this roulette for some tomes and exp.. now I do not. I simply waste too much time where I could be spending ten minutes or less in a trial, and end up with similar tome rewards. My first time, I didn't participate in any of the fights, I would finish watching a cut scene, and immediately go into watching the next one. Why? because the group had already cleared out the next boss.

My suggestion would be to break it up into a set of smaller dungeons, with a cut scene attached to the quest to enter them, and an exit cut scene instead of in the middle of the dungeon itself. That way everyone gets to watch it their first time without being pushed by someone else, and the people there to help aren't forced to wait it out. Because I'm not going to wait it out.. It's just not worth it.

I find it amusing the changes they made assumes that you would run it on a max level job. You can only get mendacity in roulettes only when you run it on a 70 job. Why would I do Main Scenario Roulette for 50 mendacity when expert gives 90? Okay SE. Unless they make it so you get that amount even if you don't run it on a max level job but it doesn't mention that so useless change.

Can we hide roulettes from our duty finder list yet? Why is this not an option yet?

I would remove Msq, 50/60, guildhest, PvP so fast.

I’d like them to at least allow us to skip the cutscenes so we don’t have to sit through them but maybe put up a barrier so no one can advance without the whole party. That way the people that want to watch them can and the rest of us at least aren’t forced into it. We could at least play with emotes and stuff while waiting

But then you'd have newbies getting kicked because they wanna watch the cutscenes. It'd be considered a "playstyle difference" too. So newbies would still lose out. They are trying the new "Port to battle" feature with the alliance raids though so who knows where else they'll take it?

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

I used to run these while leveling in HW because it was easy exp.
I didn't for SB because I felt I could level better with beast tribes and hunts. The moment they announced that the cut scenes were unskippable I refuse to que for it. Even the one time I joined near the end of it on a mentor roulette it was pretty... annoying.
Now they are adding more bonus tomes to this. But the only way I would consider it if there was enough for an i360 accessory in one run that wasn't part of the weekly cap. Because I cap men easily each week.

Mendacity is far too easy to come by - especially in Eureka. This change doesn’t attract msq roullette. Even for the exp. an uneventful CM run took nearly 40 plus minutes. No way do i wanna do that again.
