Please Reconsider MSQ Changes

If SE is gonna go through with this unskippable cutscene stuff in the last 2 dungeons, the least they could do is to auto-enable the auto-scroll function in them as well.

I'll help some people in MSQ roulette from time to time (taking tome rewards and easy money for granted is a pet peeve of mine), but we all have limits of time to consider.

After loving the story up to that point, my experience with those dungeons nearly killed the whole thing for me. I wanted to participate in the fights, but I also wanted to know what was going on, so I watched the scenes on YouTube. It was not at all the same, and I still found myself struggling to keep up and barely got to do anything because I still had to wait for the scenes to load up anyway since I had never seen them before.

I'm more than happy to que up for MSQ roulette now, if only to keep this from happening to others. Yes, it is an absurd amount of scenes for a group dungeon. But I say if you don't have the time or patience, don't run roulette and just tick the ones you actually like to run. What good is XP if you're going to ruin someone else's experience and aren't having fun, yourself?

People who act all high and mighty in this thread need to seriously chill. No one who's complaining is going to be majorly hurt by this. At all. You don't want us to queue? You seriously want less people going into those dungeons?
Why do you think that roulette was established in the first place? An abundance of good souls to help newbies clear ARR?

Cool. Do you plan to do MSQ and only MSQ for all of your playtime so that newbies can always get in? And are you gonna make alts on other data centers too to help those sprouts as well? What happens when you're at work/class/asleep?

That's like saying that I should be the only one in the world to help the needy. It should be a group effort, just like teaching a new to understand what's going on in a dungeon they've never been in before. But screw that! I don't have time to let you experience the game; I have a dungeon to grind! That's not what I signed up for by selecting MSQ roulette!


To be fair, it's an extreme change and definitely isn't the best solution. But Squeenix's bigger mistake is that they keep bribing players to help each other out. They need to just go ahead and make solo/story versions for the MSQ. It's the only way newbies will be able to experience the story at their own pace, while also be guaranteed to clear it.

Just the other day, my free company and I queued up with a total of seven people, and our eighth was a new player. We granted him the full experience instead of just speeding through, and he was having the time of his life.

Yeah...no. I'm not queuing in for a roulette that's gonna take a hour just for 80 more poetics (poetics are kinda stupid anyway at this point) and no real reward for my patience. If they offered vets more like clusters/crystals, grade 6 materia or something worth sitting through all that old crap again then "maybe" I'd give the new msq roulette a try. These new changes? Hell no. Sorry sprouts.

I queued for msq roulette yesterday and got praetorium and had not newbies but instead of the usual 20-30 min run that is common for lvl 50ish dungeons it took us a freaking hour cuz of all the unskippable cutscenes which is totally not worth the current roulette rewards i get that the u want to the solve the cutscene prob for the msq dungeons but making us sit thru all the cutscenes for those dungeons is not the answer all ur gunna do is drive the vets out of the queues for the individual dngs and the msq roulette

but these 3 dng have entirely too many cutscenes its ridiculous its like u cant go 5 feet in the dgn without stumbling over one and what ab parties that dont have a single newbie in them that are just there to farm poetics for ironworks or shire gear its no more fair to them to make them sit through all the cutscenes than it is make the newbies skip all of them

went into the new patch without reading any of the notes. queued up for MSQ roulette as i usually do, only to be greeted with this. did the first two bosses but left because i realized the 30 minute penalty is far shorter than how long it would have taken to complete the dungeon.

not entirely sure what i'm going to do for poetics now, but then again i didn't really use them for much. oh well.

You can farm them easily by spamming Aetherochemical Research Facility (the lvl 60 HW dungeon). It gives you 150 poetics per trip and still best source for poetic farming. Also, I think 50/60 roulette still gives poetics as a reward as well. So you'll still be getting a lot of poetics each day without having to step foot in that bs msq roulette again.
