I wasn't expecting a buff but SE said it was an AoE nerf and that single target would remain the same. All of this after the initial release really blew as far as SMN AoE damage was concerted and was fixed in 4.1. Now it looks like we are more or less back where we started.

Yoshi also said that the single target nerf "would not impact much in the larger picture"

However, nerfing Ruin III and WW is a pretty big impact ;p
