That, ppl got what they deserved. If you dont like it, dont run it, its easy.Considering it was Main Scenario Roulette, and not random non story roulette, I think in this case, the players have only themselves to blame. How many times have you run that roulette only to see new people lost, confused, and unhappy because players have left them in the dust and older players saying "just watch it on youtube or in the inn, stop making us wait." It was a roulette for story content. heavy story content.
Well, that's precisely what people will do.
That is precisely the issue the entire ruckus on that topic is all about. If you haven't noticed from Diadem at the latest, there's a distinct connection between the amount of people running a piece of content and the time it takes to get into that content.
"Speedrunners" don't give a rats butt, this isn't a punishment for them. They'll just queue for something else for their rewards. There's no reason for them to be concerned about themselves - The only one to be concerned about are newbies who'll have to deal with the consequences of "Don't like it, don't run it.", i.e. queue times, mentors leaving at the start etc.
To be fair, that's what the unanimous opinion is. Which means new players will now be faced with potentially waiting hours on a queue. Great way to stick it to the veterans... who don't even care?
Again, blamed for what? Unless the EXP is absurdly high or they stuff cracked crystals as an incentive, I'll just never even look at MSQ Roulette again. This change only impacts me whenever I decide to do Mentor Roulette. On the other hand, new players may suffer extremely long wait times. What some of you don't seem to get is the people you're pointing your finger at don't care. They'll go elsewhere to get their EXP and Poetics. New players don't have that option.Considering it was Main Scenario Roulette, and not random non story roulette, I think in this case, the players have only themselves to blame. How many times have you run that roulette only to see new people lost, confused, and unhappy because players have left them in the dust and older players saying "just watch it on youtube or in the inn, stop making us wait." Just a guess, but I feel like they meant "Blamed for it changing" because people treated it as a means to speedrun the rewards, not to help people trying to get through it. Now SE changed it to become "Helping people get through it" and people are raging.
My guess, anyways. I'll probably still run it, because when I did before, I always made sure that if there was someone new I would be there to lead them around. This won't be much different.
I think the biggest concern for me is, I knew 5 seconds after reading what they intended to do with the cut-scenes precisely what the outcome of doing it would be. How out of touch with the game actual must developers be in order to think that this was a good idea?
Suspension of disbelief needs to be justifiable. I can believe Kirin can fly because he has magic light wings, I can believe adamantoise can fly because of his rocket engine farts, I can believe Fenrir can fly because you literally see the ice magic holding him up.
I think the Devs are getting really lazy with this, the Christmas bear has no justification to be able to fly (it should have the same ice particle effects as Kirin) and neither do these horses
Hey, thats what rewards are for. If SE would not put any reward in to the dungeon many ppl would not run that dungeon, that was the trade off from SE to help the ques for newbs. As you can see they even added 80+ poes to rewards. If we are supposed to help newbs than why they gives us rewards? Why do they put a reward in a system where ppl should help newcomers aka Mentor system? Theres reason why is so many bad mentors bc they all care for the reward not to help the newbs. You can only blame SE for this.Just a guess, but I feel like they meant "Blamed for it changing" because people treated it as a means to speedrun the rewards, not to help people trying to get through it. They weren't that rare. They only are now because the mode pops so infrequently that getting 200 or 300 matches to get 100 wins is ridiculous. When it popped often you could get those matches much easier.
And I can be ok with magic if the mount was magical. I mean, even if it had steel wings or something to match the barding. But it's very realistic a mount compared to everything else in game, and I just went WTF when I saw the picture.
edit: Adamantoise flying is a literal joke, it's a call back to Gamera, who was the second most popular japanese giant monster back in the day next to Godzilla. He's kind of dead now in terms of popularity, but if you are Yoshi's age whether JP or westerner you probably watched him a lot growing up. A lot of the tropes people attach to Godzilla actually started with him, like the whole friend to children thing.

Egh. With flying being a thing, mounts that can't do it aren't a viable choice and less desired and since they are used as an incentive for activity X and Y, that means you need to make them able to fly to keep the incentives intact, no matter how silly it might be.
I expect the silliness to escalate further unless they find a way to make ground only mounts viable for travel after flying is unlocked.
